There is definitely risk here for the Suns. Beal is owed an ungodly amount of money. There is no guarantee that the Beal-Booker backcourt can even work. And Frank Vogel looks like an odd fit with this super team.

HOWEVER

1. We're finally done with Chris Paul.
2. Kyrie isn't coming here.
3. Shamet is gone.

Congratulations to the Wizards for making the worst trade in NBA history.

You can hear the collective wailing from Wizards nation. What an awful trade for them.
I just checked one of their forums. It's a mixture of disbelief at such a horrible trade for them and anger at Beal for forcing his way to Phoenix.

What are the realistic Ayton deals now??

Part of me kind of wants to see if the Hornets would trade Gordon Hayward for him straight up. That’d be 32 million off the books next year. Be cool if they include the 27th pick or maybe two of 32,34,39,41. But I just want off Ayton’s contract now.

Vogel just needs to find a way to create a top defense out of the final roster. He could be a great fit. Suns are stacked with coaching.
Offense wise, the team will just have to move the ball and be unselfish scoring wise. They’re gonna need rebounding, wing defenders, and guys able to hit open shots.
I’m stoked we don’t have to root for Kyrie or Harden.

What to do with Ayton now…

1. Keep him and sign 10 vet min players.
2. Trade him for multiple role players.
3. Trade him into cap space and open up some exceptions.

I vote 2, then 3, then 1.

Guess you could also trade him for one player who makes similar money.

Agreed, I'd vote in that order.

Oh crap, Beal's no-trade clause is still in effect after the trade.

Looks like you'll have some company, Wizards fans, in a couple of years.

I said Hayward and I think I’m still there, use him a our main sixth man.

Ayton for Hayward 34 and 41

Book-Beal-Okogie (or Dillon Brooks 🤢) -KD-Landale

Payne, Hayward, Damion Lee, Yuta, Craig, Biz
34,41,52,

Maybe get some decent players to ring chase and sign for the minimum.

I hope someone has bothered to tell Ishbia that the apron penalties are not just financial. Not that he would even care...

I do not believe there was a better resolution to the Cp3 issue than this.

Gonna be really tough to stop 3 3 level scorers.

Woah wtf.

Happy Father’s Day?

Paul can’t come back here if waived by Washington cause of that dumb rule.
Go Suns!

Everything I've heard recently indicates the second apron stuff won't matter for another two seasons and several teams are trying to stack these superstar loaded teams now because it'll be impossible down the road.

Where they stand now -

F Durant | Warren (UFA), Wainright (UFA), Bazley (RFA)
F ??? | Craig (UFA), Okogie (UFA), Ross (UFA)
C Ayton | Landale (UFA), Biyombo (UFA)
G Booker, Payne | S. Lee (UFA)
G Beal | D. Lee (UFA)

Jones needs to get his shit together over the summer and actually find a bench this year. They need to add at least one or two players (at PG and PF) who can actually be relied on to contribute. And they won't have much money, so it's going to take some work.
