Man, there is no mercy in the NBA. That's dumb for Houston to fire McHale. Not an elite coach but was doing a solid job. Their problems were not his fault, and they reacted far too quickly. They aren't even doing THAT badly in the first place; 4-7 is bad but very recoverable.

And another blown chance to beat them. Toronto had the ball down 1 with something like 18 seconds to go and they got called for an offensive foul before even getting into their play.

Yeah, they kind of seemed like a fluke to me last year too.

Don't sleep on the Raptors. DeMarre Carroll looks great, Lowry lost some flab, and they just seem a notch sharper so far this year. Like that team a lot.

Zinigis is legit but I just have this gut feeling NY is going to screw him up somehow. It'll be interesting to see how things play out with Melo.
you mean like the crowd chanting porzingod every time he touches the ball? i'm amazed this guy's head hasn't exploded yet. seriously, super impressed and i'm rooting for him to succeed, despite my best judgement, as the knicks with fisher and jackson are essentially lakers lite for me.

the mchale firing was shocking for me. agreed that the tinkering did them in, that and "greatest player on earth" harden playing like shit so far. i think the problem was not so much lawson though, instead i would say losing josh smith hurt much more than they realize... never thought i'd say that about josh smith.

Houston needed a shot in the arm badly. Not just Harden, almost everybody was having a down season, can't make a three and collectively they stopped playing defense, even when Howard plays.

Like others have said, it is easier to fire the coach than the roster and truth be told, McHale had not the reputation of a great coach despite how well respected he is around the league. I go the vibe that his situation was kinda like Dwane Casey in Toronto (or Washington's Wittman). The team is doing well enough so you can't justify firing him although they (not so)secretly want to look for something better.

NOLA is the walking wounded. If he can't stick there then I think he might be done.

With Booker, there should be no thoughts of the Suns wanting him.

Jimmer can't be worse than Weems and Cory Jefferson.

i remember this game last season (i think it was a suns game?) where cory jefferson exploded for 8 or so offensive rebounds. i know that these performances are not likely norms, but if he plays with energy and athleticism and is our 12th or 15th man, i think he's a positive addition.

my buddy is an avid knicks fan and he complains that there should be no place for lou amundson on that team, and i tell him, hey, imagine going up against an energy guy like that in practice everyday. if jefferson brings that to the suns, i say good for him!

The Greek Freak went 12-15 for 33 points against the Cavs tonight. Milwaukee lost though.

So you want him taking Booker's time? Or maybe Archie's?

Dude, the Clippers can't miss right now. They just put up 41 points on the Warriors in the 1st Q with Steph in extremely early foul trouble.

And the Warriors win again.

Is it too soon to put Curry in the conversation of best pg ever?

Certainly he can. The problem would be good enough for the coach to be tempted to give him playing time. That should go to Booker.
