Paul wasn't anything special, and Ayton was a step slow in foul trouble all game. It really goes to show we need just two of those other guys to show up every night. It was Cam and Ish tonight.

Nice job, Book!
It was the 14th technical of the season for Doncic, two shy of the threshold for a one-game suspension.

Doncic is the least pleasing star to watch. He just backs his defender down and bumps into the defenders chest, shoves his forearm into the defender and gets an ungodly number of fouls called on the defender that would otherwise be an offensive foul for most other players. On top of that, he looks like he's taking a backed up shit that he can't get out when he doesn't get the foul call while he blows a gasket on the refs.
If you like that kind of offense coupled with 12 to 18 free throw attempts a night, more power to you.

Chris Paul scored eight of his 11 points in the fourth quarter for one of several tiebreaking or go-ahead buckets for both teams.

OK, he was a good role player. I guess my expectations need to be adjusted.

It's true. I believe they do. His HOF play ended last season. I think we just have to be happy with clutch play in key moments now. However, KD and Book is that guy now. Paul is a much lesser third option now.

Fifth option actually, because Ayton and whoever gets in the corner uncovered have precedence. And that's a good thing, not even freshly arrived Paul was capable to take over a game in a regular basis, he carefully choose his spots and games to do it (clutch time, New Orleans and Clippers games)
Current Paul is missing some push on his shot, but hopefully he will regain accuracy as a byproduct of being left alone. In the meantime, CP-Rubio is not that bad to have, running the offense, feeding Ayton and finding the open man, the Suns now have the firepower to make up for him taking only 5 shots.
As I said earlier, Clippers are 0-5 since Westbrook arrived, and the Mavs fell to 2-5 since Irving, while we stand at 3-0 with Durant. Granted that KD's game fitted as advertised, totally smooth, but the other cases shows how hard is to integrate in the fly a big piece in the rotation. So far Durant is going trough the motions, he even went parking in the corner on some plays, my guess is that he is still learning the playbook, and that corner is what the offense dictated for our player manning the PF spot before his arrival.
17 games can be truly altering in the way we are looking this team, specially if nobody lose more that one or two games from now on.

I suppose my sarcasm was hard to detect. I said Paul wasn't anything special, that was to imply he's a role player now.

Yep, it was quite subtle. He is what he is now. We've got to face facts.
Paul: 11 PTS, 7 AST, 6 REB, 1 STL
Not a bad role player though.

We're unstoppable if he can hit those spot up 3's throughout the game. I don't enjoy holding my breath on the ones he takes in the last 5 minutes of the game.
