Well, there are plenty of people here who want to see him play well. I think he'll be very good if he does two things - plays a little more under control and develops a dependable perimeter shot.

He has elite level quickness, but so did Ish Smith. If you can't shoot you can't stay in this league anymore unless you're absolutely elite at something else and even then you'll have to scheme around playing 4 on 5 on one end of the floor.

I understand what you're saying, but I wouldn't go that extreme. There's plenty of players that are pretty important pieces that don't shoot. Also, ish Smith is still in the league.

Also, Ish Smith's career shooting numbers aren't that bad. He's a better shooter than Rubio, a more efficient scorer than Terry Rozier, hits the 3 better than DeMar Derozan, etc etc etc.

Fox? We could have a DeAndre, a De’Anthony, and a De’Aaron on the same team.

I'd be very happy to take Tyus Jones off their hands. I'm not sure what we can do to facilitate since we can't take back salary. All we can do is throw in an expiring.

Fox is too projecty for my tastes. Any PG we acquire needs to either be more established than our current crop or have a higher ceiling.

Maybe something like Minny not wanting to take on another pg, so Beverley or Dinwiddie or whoever gets shipped to us as we move an asset Minny likes more.

You don't think Fox has a higher ceiling than our current guys? Not that I think we are getting him, but he was a #5 pick who had an ok season last year.

Ya he probably does. But I don't think he's a significantly better prospect. I think there are definitely scenarios where he doesn't end up the best PG amongst the 5.

The PG's I'd still consider projects that I think are worth going after would be Lonzo and Fultz. And Doncic if he's considered a PG. But none of those guys are remotely available. If the clippers for some reason made SGA available and Minny didn't want him, then I'd be interested as well.

Kind of like Igor was excellent at doing with Rubio in Utah?

No way we're getting Fox. I wanted him last year as our PG of the future, could've changed things drastically.

Rubio actually shot ok, but they still started favors and gobert together. Two non shooters.

I was considering the idea that Goran would be coming back from Miami when Butler goes there from Minnesota. Not sure what we'll be giving up but it could be something like Warren and a pick.

For some perspective, Utah was very middle of the pack on offense. 19th in the NBA in points scored, 13th in fg%.

Not taking anything away from Coachkov. They run a good offense for their talent. But the facts remain that it's harder to get open shots when the defense knows they have a smaller area to defend, and it's tough to score a lot taking 2s.

Utah could get away with it because they had the best defense in the NBA. I don't want to give up the 3 point line for guys who are not excellent defenders.
