Before Harden there was Wade. The NBA enabled their play, which they exploited.BookTheGoat wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2019 5:53 pmI don’t actively root for the rockets. I just don’t dislike them like I do the Warriors. It’s not about play style or anything like that I just don’t like Draymond, Klay, Iggy, or Steph(to a lesser extent).Marty [Mori Chu] wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2019 12:51 pmI don't know why someone would root for the Rockets/Harden but hate the Warriors. Both teams have a lot of the same pros and cons. 3-point shooting, fast pace, transition game, layups. Working the refs, flopping, whining about calls. I get why people like and dislike both teams. They seem of a kind to me. Warriors have won the titles and have the more stacked roster, but the two seem more similar than different to me otherwise.BookTheGoat wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2019 11:06 amHe does manipulate the refs but you can’t deny his talent/skill. He’s not. Take away his antics and you turn him into a normal player who is an above average scorer.BookTheGoat wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2019 11:06 amHe does manipulate the refs but you can’t deny his talent/skill. He’s a great player.

His go-to step back 3 is a travel every time.
His drives to the lane are only effective because defenders are worried he’ll trick the refs into a foul. His league record number of and 1s on 3s are a complete joke. Take all those away and he’s not special.
Re: 2019 NBA Playoffs
Take away what makes any great player effective and they aren't special.
Re: 2019 NBA Playoffs
Take away Steph Curry's shooting and you turn him into a normal player who is an above average scorer.
Re: 2019 NBA Playoffs
Too many players to count take that two-foot shuffle before taking their jump shot. Especially threes when there is a defender around them. Half the league uses the Euro-step at one time or another. These things used to be travels, but since the rule change 10 years ago they are allowed plays.specialsauce wrote: ↑Fri Jun 07, 2019 8:49 amOkay.Indy wrote: ↑Fri Jun 07, 2019 6:49 amThat is just sillyspecialsauce wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2019 11:02 pmHe’s not. He hooks players arms to fake contact on his drives. Yeah Booker does it now too and I hate it. It should result in an offensive foul and a warning. Second time should be a technical.

Re: 2019 NBA Playoffs
Except it’s not a travel. You get two steps, no one ever said it couldn’t be backwards. Harden is using the rules to his advantage. Your issue should be with the league, not Harden
Re: 2019 NBA Playoffs
Harden is one of the best in the league. Only the haters don't agree. It's not a travel. There's a dribble in there too.

Toronto is about to ring, and they've existed since 1996 (knocking off the 72 win Bulls in the regular season at the Skydome).
We've existed since...1968. Oof.

Re: 2019 NBA Playoffs
Unfortunately the Suns have never run up against the teams having injury issues in the big playoff series they played over the years (1976 Finals, 1979 WC Finals, 1993 Finals, etc.) like the Raptors are now.
And the one time they had a good team and ran up against a team with injury problems (1981) Cotton's 40-42 Kings kicked their asses (without their starting backcourt!). And I've seen enough of Joe Johnson getting his face broken, Kevin Johnson pulling a hamstring, Alvan Adams spraining an ankle and Steve Nash being a bloody mess at inopportune times to last me a lifetime.
Maybe we'll start seeing some of that good karma that's so overdue around here sometime soon.

I am so impressed with the Raptors. So poised and professional. Almost seems like a team full of mercenaries. Even if they are, they are playing really good. Good for Toronto. Better them than GS again.
