He could be there AND be positive, right?

I wasn't comparing him to other guards. 33% from 3 is the same as 50% from the field, right?Indy wrote: ↑Thu Jul 16, 2020 7:10 amIt puts him in the bottom 25% of starting guards this season.Superbone wrote: ↑Wed Jul 15, 2020 6:57 pmIt's not bad either. Good enough to keep taking them.Indy wrote: ↑Wed Jul 15, 2020 4:11 pmHe is a great follow. Rubio is shooting 35% for the season from 3. That is not good. The fact that he shoots 51% from catch and shoot 3s in the corner tells you he isn't shooting that shot enough, and taking worse shots much more often.bajanguy008 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 15, 2020 3:48 pmBut u said David Klein is a good follow for insightIndy wrote: ↑Wed Jul 15, 2020 7:09 am
If he was in the last year of his contract, I could see it. but he just signed an over-priced deal for a PG turning 30 that can't shoot. And with the talk of the team coming together and fighting as one, I just don't see him doing that. I kind of hope he does, it it means we would consider trading him to get out of that contract (I think year 3 is going to be so bad).![]()

Depends on if people want to start taking this seriously and start wearing masks or not. It could have been over all ready.Indy wrote: ↑Thu Jul 16, 2020 10:27 amso, like, 2022?

It was a combination of things. No mention of him being in Orlando. No picture or video evidence. Nothing on social media to indicate what he was up to when he was normally pretty active on there.
Maybe he was one of the chosen players to be in Orlando but not shown to keep the identities of those who tested positive a mystery.

He might be in Orlando but quarantined?

Re: Suns News: Coronavirus Break
I disagree on both counts. I think Rubio would be fine coming off the bench for GS, especially with the talent they have on their roster. And the Warriors are putting a premium on backup point guard; they want to protect Steph Curry. The only question would be if they are willing to pay that much.
Gordon's value is definitely debatable. I'm not completely sold on his fit with Oubre in that scenario. But I don't understand the long term implications you are referring to, unless you think Bridges is due some sort of major leap beyond solid role player.

I don't think we need a point guard who leads the league in assists. I think this team needs two, solid, dependable role players at the point guard position, and I think you could get two players like that who are combined less expensive than Rubio.Mori Chu wrote: ↑Thu Jul 16, 2020 7:29 amWe finally get ourselves an above-average distributing point guard who is capable of leading the league in assists, and you guys want to run him out of town along with one of our best young wings in exchange for an athlete PF who can't shoot or rebound and is mediocre on D.
People have to remember, the Suns had NOTHING at point guard. There is a plenty of room between nothing and Rubio.
And even with Rubio's assists numbers, the team wasn't good.

Re: Suns News: Coronavirus Break
that is a fair point. We have just gotten so used to seeing AWFUL basketball the last several years, that winning 40% of our games felt good. And if you justify that "they would have won more if Ayton didn't suspend himself" or if "you only count the last 15 games, Bridges scored more than 10 points a game" and so on. It certainly was a huge step up from last year, but we still are not even an average team, much less good.INFORMER wrote: ↑Thu Jul 16, 2020 4:40 pmI don't think we need a point guard who leads the league in assists. Re: Suns News: Coronavirus Break
I feel we are developing a big 3 that all thrive with the ball in their hands. So we don't need a point guard who looks for his offense, pounds the ball, and excels at getting to the hoop (think the old Derrick Rose). But I also don't think we need a point guard that has set everything up and be our primary facility (Rubio).
I think we have the kind of core in the making that is like the Bulls with Ron Harper/Steve Kerr, San Antonio with Avery Johnson, Houston with Kenny Smith/Sam Cassell, the Lakers with Derek Fisher, or, looking at current teams, the Clippers with Pat Beverly.

On the other hand, I think Fred Van Vleet would be absolutely perfect for this team. But I just don't see him leaving Toronto.
Part of my desire to deal Rubio to Golden State is to free the cap space for this offseason, and potentially, for 2021. I would make a run at VanVleet, but I certainly would count on landing him.

Cam is definitely looking more filled out up top, but he was so thin before he still looks relatively slight.
