Game Day: Suns (2-2) @ Blazers (1-2), Wed 10/10/18

Canaan needs to start if we don't make a move. Shaq might be the odd man out that needs to be cut

Seems like we shouldn't be beat on the glass as much as we are.

Hell of a job getting Atyon involved tonight. 3 of 4 from the field.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

Was Igor protecting our starters because this is the last preseason game? Or was he sending a message?

Guys were just going through the motions on offense. Not looking to find mismatches or anything just weave bullshit. Also we only tend to look downlow late in the Possesion. I think teams may pick up on that pattern with us. We don’t take advantage of having Ayton nearly enoughAmareIsGod wrote: ↑Wed Oct 10, 2018 9:04 pmHell of a job getting Atyon involved tonight. 3 of 4 from the field.

It looked like he’s figuring out a bench unit. The group as a whole was a mess. It looked like a scrimmage most of the game on both sides with exception to Layman.
Come regular season, I think Ariza, Ayton, Booker, and Anderson are gonna get a bunch of minutes while they figure out a bench rotation.

i think Tj has to be on the bench and a focal point of the bench otherwise there is just not enough scoring. We didnt go to him enough today, whilst against the warriors it looked good feeding him the ballDrewsprocket wrote: ↑Wed Oct 10, 2018 9:34 pmIt looked like he’s figuring out a bench unit. if Canaan is our starting PG, we may as well just start the tanking today.

Swanigan is pretty skilled and can play both inside and outside. If the Blazers don't use him when the season starts, we should look at ways to acquire him. Would love to pair him with Ayton. PF is still a real problem for this team.

Suns waited until the 2nd quarter to play with any intensity on defense. By then the game was over as Portland scored 39 points. They couldn't miss from 3. The team didn't look very good out there however Ariza and Anderson barely played. It will be interesting to see how we look on opening night with Booker back and regular rotations. I really have no idea what to expect next Wednesday against the Mavs.

That will make us Houston/Orlando 2.0

Not sure what to make of last night. I started watching in the 2nd qtr when it was 60-32? I don't want to overreact because I know it's preseason and we don't have Booker and we have a new coach and new offense, but how do you get blown out like that to Portland's 2nd stringers? How does a team not come out ready to play? Is it the players? Is it Igor? The offense? We looked a lot better against GS and I get there will still be nights we get blown out, but there's no excuse for last night regardless.

Thank goodness we have veteran leaders like Chandler, Ariza and Anderson setting the tone and keeping the team ready to play.

Suns lose by 30, the cameraman catches Mark Cuban looking smug with a crooked half-smile, Ayton receives not a single entry pass, and Doncic falls one rebound short of a triple-double, sending .net into an irrecoverable tailspin. We self-medicate with sarcasm, eventually overdosing.
