DWade was part of the broadcast, so he could hear them. The dunks were legit 50’s based off precedent. The problem is they give out too many 50’s...takes away from the truly special dunks. Maybe let each judge give out 2 11’s throughout the competition.

Yeah, but he didn't deserve to lose after dunking over Tacko freaking fall
I saw him land on Tackos head and he probably needs a chiropractor now.
Yeah, he definitely didn't clear him. Got over his shoulders but Tacko's head went forward at a 90 degree angle.

Yeah give one “11” cards for each judge to use it on the contest. Two of them would likely lead to someone burning one of their 11 too easy, or with dunks like Dwight Howard’s second dunk. Nothing special but working on the emotional side.

If a couple judges use them on the first round, they push forward their guys but lose influence on the final round, if someone keep it too close to the heart, then you can see a Player’s dunk the judge liked going home early.

And it would be an authentic thrill in a year like this, to see that only one or two judges still have an eleven on their pocket. Not sure it would solve the problem totally, but at least partially, while becoming an interesting twist to this current 50-50 nonsense

The way to fix the score inflation is to make it a bracket of dunk-offs between 2 players, where the judges just choose which dunk of the 2 was better. No score. Just Guy A dunks, Guy B dunks, they hold up a name. Getting >= 3 votes out of 5 means you win. Then you move on in the bracket. 4 => 2 => 1 player who's the winner. Easy peasy, and no more "50" ranks for every dunk.

Aaron Gordon robbed again
Both were phenomenal. Both deserved to win
It should have been a tie like the commentators were suggesting.
Agree. One of the best dunk contests ever.

I hate singers who sing the National Anthem and turn it into a vocal gymnastics competition. I love ya Chaka Khan but, making up an entirely new melody on the fly that goes all over the place was really annoying.

This new format for the all Star game where the score resets after every quarter is beyond stupid.

Grateful Book is an All-star. Grateful I don't have to watch the all-star game. I remember when this used to be an enjoyable game to watch--what happened?

Through 3 quarters just concluding, Devin Booker has played the least minutes of all players at 7. What the fuck.

The 4th quarter idea is fun but I could’ve done without all the flopping and theatrics. Is it possible to play a competitive game without bitching and baiting every possession?

Best 4th quarter ever that I can remember from a NBA all-star game.

I agree. All Star games have always been a joke. Nobody really tries. They just compete to see who can take the most ridiculous shot. You could tell they were trying to win now. Seeing 10 All Stars on a court at the same time trying to compete was exciting. The new format generated interest in every quarter and the final quarter was exciting.

The half time show I couldn’t stomach and fast forwarded. Rappers trying to sing an actual melody and not even coming close is painful.

I agree with you there too and I did the same. The only redeeming quality is that Chance had 2 trombonists in his band. ;)

I immediately went to the internet after her performance and was not surprised to find a ton of comments agreeing with us. She softened the blow from Fergie's horrible all-star performance a couple years ago.
