It's not about him. It's about the team. Like Sauce said in the other thread: it's more than just Game 7. It wasn't "just a bad." They shouldn't have been pushed to 7 by Dallas; they shouldn't have been pushed to 6 by the Pelicans. And in back to back years, they've surrendered a 2-0 series lead. There's the "holistic" view.
Their best player was out for 3.5 of the 6 games and didn't look right when he did come back.
He had games of 35, 30, and 28 against Dallas. I wouldn't play the "Booker was coming off injury" card.
I mean, he was coming off an injury, unless you think he faked it? And I meant in the Pels series. He looked better for Dallas before COVID.

So now we're saying Booker had COVID in game 7? He had just got it in March and was asymptomatic. But he got it again in Game 7 and that affected his play?

And it seems we're getting a lot of mileage out of report that said one Suns player and two staffers tested positive.

Multiple players were positive for games 6 and 7. I don't know how many staff. And then Luka (and I don't know how many other Mavs) were sick with covid during the Warriors series. Same thing happened in the east between Miami and Boston.

I think you're treating speculation as fact.

I need to hear something on Paul’s performance. Like, even just that he experimented with psychotropic drugs at his 37th birthday party and it affected his balance for a few weeks. I can’t deal with the threat of this guy turning into Marcus Banks during a random point every playoffs hanging over us like the sword of Damocles.

Obviously the league doesn't want to talk about it. It is completely reckless and inexcusable. But the league encouraged it by changing their policy and not testing anymore.

Marc Spears interview with Wolf & Luke:

https://omny.fm/shows/wolf-luke/marc-j- ... -andscap-2

Interesting take from Spears at the end, saying that Ayton is basically irreplaceable and that he is very valuable because he is a center. The opposite of a lot of what you hear lately.

Take a few minutes before you stand up so people don’t notice

Should he trade Paul? What's the right decision if you were James Jones?

INF has been strongly against getting Chris Paul from the beginning, and keeping him.

The first rule of living with covid is not talking about it. We act like it doesn’t have a hand in league play. It’s not about excuses but clearly they’re enabling players’ don’t test don’t tell.

Yeah, to the extreme of going invisible instead of giving him props when the team was rolling.

I don't think James Jones would ever trade Chris Paul, so I won't even discuss that. And I wasn't implying that he should. My point was that we've seen him fall apart in the postseason two years in a row. And CamPayne was awful last year. You have to go into this offseason with backup point guard as a priority. We can't rely on Payne, and Landry Shamet has now put together a substantial track record of doing nothing in the playoffs (LAC/Brooklyn/PHX).

This is a very inaccurate and ignorant statement to make; you're better than this Aztec. And I wish all that had happened that made me go "invisible" was trying to avoid giving Chris Paul credit.

Regardless, here are the receipts:

The current team is projected to win 50 games on 538. How many wins does the Rubio-led quad win this season if the Paul trade isn't made? More than 40?
No way. How many games has Paul kept us in with his playmaking or shooting? A lot.
I’m with Indy. We certainly wouldn’t be a top seed.

If we ran back last years team we’d be fighting for the play in games, which currently would be 24-28 wins.
Agreed.

Just trying to do some ribbing, I was at some point truly worried for your prolonged absence.

My sincere apologies Inf, specially if I brought you back bad memories.
