Ayton: 17 FBRS in only 3 quarters. I thought he was good today. He indicated he finally feels recovered from the ankle issue in the postgame quotes. Hopefully that’s been the issue all along

Craig has been the heartbeat of the team the last few games. He and Payne deserve a ton of credit.

DA definitely looking more engaged on the boards. He still hasn’t shown anything new but let’s at least get back to last year first

The Cam Payneissance continues. I hope Chris Paul sits out two-thirds of the games until March.

And then sits out the second round of the playoffs and beyond when he starts to hurt us out there

He'd be really good off of the bench and in crunch time. There are fewer ways for him to get targeted when playing against opposing rotation players and he's still a huge advantage when it comes to getting good shots on long possessions.

I didn't realize the start was so early and missed this game completely. Glad Cam Payne had such a great night. He's been wonderful this year; MIP candidate?

From last year maybe, but he was still better in 2020-21 so I don’t think he’d get consideration

Okogie played well, yes.

Wainwright was 0-4 and looked overmatched ...
I was pleased to see he had 7 boards. We just need his 3s to fall and he'll be a solid contributor.

I know we wish our starting PF would be $$ from 3 and also have post game so Craig is underwhelming to many but I've really enjoyed his play

His impact nightly shouldn't be overlooked even though he's more bench guy than starter

He is shooting above 40% from 3 on the season

Our team has been kept afloat by Booker's amazing season, with strong support from Bridges, Payne, and Craig. Payne and Craig returning to 2021 form has been a very welcome sight; we have needed them badly.

I'm not trying to diminish the uptick in production from Payne and Craig, but I think a lot of their form can be simply attributed to playing starters minutes. We saw a similar trend last season when Booker was out for a while and Shamet played his best stretch of the season during that time.

Don't assume the Payne and Craig we're seeing now will carry over to when they're back to their bench rotation role.

Just getting ahead of the "these guys suck!" crowd.

(I've been guilty of it as well.)
