That replay was clearly a foul on Craig's tooth for getting in Giannis's way.
That's true. It did touch Giannis. Automatic foul.

We are "struggling" and "can't compete" are definitely not terms I would use
The Nets guy is reaching and just taking a shot

I don't even have to fact check the record Nets had without KD to know it's a silly comp, they were "struggling" and in a bad spot and we haven't finished Close Fought games well. Emphasis on close....

Apples and Oranges

Lmao

EDIT: KD deleted it but here’s the pic

Image
It's good he deleted it because it was dumb response. The tweet he was responding to makes a very valid point.
I actually loved his response, let it go
 That we "literally" can't compete with "any team" without him? OK.
I loved his response as well, totally “let me go Nets guy, you have a nice team to follow”

Besides, that tweet is clearly grasping for oxygen to survive, the soap opera KD left behind goes far beyond losing games… anyway, whatever makes nitpickers feel better is a valid point nowadays, I suppose.

He is exaggerating. But the Suns really struggle without KD, that much is plain to see.
We struggle without our best player? Strange.
Apparently the concept was foreign to Durant.

But I also don't think it is a given that a team will struggle without their best player. Will they not be as good? Of course. But we've seen Milwaukee play at a high level with Giannis, Memphis without Morant, etc. I'm not talking about the playoffs, just the regular season. I think it can be a bit of yellow/red flag when you see a big dropoff in the team's play. The Nash years are a good example of that. Amare/JJ/Marion were an insanely talented trio, and it was alarming how bad the team looked without Nash. Sure, it helped fuel Nash's MVP candidacy, but it also exposed the flaw in how the team was constructed. Not surprising that the Suns finally swept the Spurs once the Suns had depth a legit backup to Nash (Dragic), who even allowed the team to outplay other teams when Nash was on the bench.

No kidding. They gave up two starters for him. Duh.
That is kind of the point though. Sure he is joining Book, but after Book, things get kind of shaky.

That's an interesting interpretation. I didn't read any commentary on the current Nets team in what Durant replied.

The suns also lost 3 games
1. The hottest team in the west and current 2 seed
2. The defending champs
3. The 2021 champs and current best team in the nba

Would it have been nice to win? Of course, but we were also in all those games late and I don’t think losing them means anything at all. I guess it means we aren’t a contender without Durant, but that’s not a secret.

And the Bucks playing without Giannis isn't really the same since the rest of their roster has been playing together the whole season. The Suns are trying to integrate several new pieces.

Well, this is not a die-hard sentimental fan that can’t let go his team failing to extend Joe Johnson after 20 years, he it’s a self proclaimed “Expert Nets Analyst”, so he should be able to stick to the analysis over pettiness, keep the focus on his team of expertise and let go former players take on their new journeys, so it’s weird that he kept on criticism against KD!!!

Hey, over reaching its not that hard!! ;)

And the fear prior to trading for Durant was that while we'd beat those teams in the regular season, we wouldn't be a contender keeping things as is with Cam and Mikal. Maybe Mikal's play of late changes that assumption.

Here's some news for you guys. I didn't know this either. In fact, I wasn't aware of any of this. Truth is it scares me if he really thinks this.

I know. I'm at a loss for words as well. This is the scariest thing he's said since we drafted him. I don't know if there's any hope for him now. What we see is what we get. I think I'm going to give up on him living up to his potential.

in fairness he's really only thinking about defence.
He hasn't yet realised he can be physical on offence.

I don't put much stock into what Ayton says. He gives a lot of weird quotes and interviews. Seems like he isn't a strong communicator. I'd rather just judge him by his play and actions.

That's where I'm at. No need to jump off a cliff because of his comments. Though Ayton may never meet people's expectations on here, he WILL get better. He is still young.

He says what he thinks people want to hear. In other words, he’s avoids confrontation. Just like when he has the ball in his hands.
