In a contract year, Saric appears to have responded by returning to the team in great shape.

“He looks really, really good from a conditioning standpoint,” Williams said on July 14. “He just dedicated himself over the break to conditioning, his diet — I think staying here in the states has really helped him and I’m really excited about his improvement.”

That's great that Saric is in good shape. But I am always annoyed by these guys who only sometimes bother to actually keep in shape when that's literally their job that they make millions of dollars to do.

They would all be in great shape if all contracts were only one year.

Glad Rubio's there! Wouldn't be surprised if he didn't play in the first few exhibitions if he's just now getting some practices in.

If this was his first practice? I'd think he'd want to get a few more days of conditioning before he gets into all-out game play, no? He's probably not a guy who needs to refresh on any plays, but more about getting his legs/body back. Kind of a shock to the system to go from hardly anything at all to full game speed?

With the shortened quarters and being friendlies, I am assuming they will play more like summer league than NBA pre-season.

Thanks for posting, that was a good interview. Really sucks he and his family caught it. Also good to know he's not opting out of Orlando because of free agency and sounds anxious to get out there.
