The article comes across as something of a hit piece. But I think all involved would admit that Ayton hasn't exactly been a smashing success in Portland. I am so, sooooooo happy we got rid of him (and happy for the great return we got for him!).
Come on now…. He’s due for a big 23pt/17reb game again before shutting it down for a week or so.

Never thought I’d say this but I’m wondering if Bol Bol becomes a better player than Ayton. At least he’s showing a willingness to try to get better lately.

I like the progress Bol has shown lately, but he has a mile to go to be as good as DA is. Bol averages around 6 points and 4 rebounds for his career, while DA averages over 16 and 10.

Yea, he has a ways to go for sure... Just like his recent progress and hoping we can build on it.

At the end of the day if he was playing well, articles like this wouldn't even be written. He reached his ceiling with us and we were wise to move on from him when we did. Nurk has his shortcomings but he's been a breath of fresh air. A good teammate, passer and rebounder who has embraced his role even if he's not entirely happy with it.

I can’t believe they held onto Brogdon and Grant. Not sure what they are doing.
Yeah I expected them to trade Grant before the deadline. It pretty much sealed you winning the bet.

Did you bet? He had 20 and 12. What's the requirement to win?
I did bet a small amount on 18 & 12 (+750 or 7.5x return), which was nice. But the bet I was talking about was 18/15/1 steal/1 block—it was a +10000 bet (100x return) earlier in the week before he accomplished it (I believe he had that specific line only twice last season). In other words, a 10,000% return on your money—if someone had bet $10,000 on it, they would have $1 million.
Or -$10,000 most nights. :P
True but if he does it twice a season it’s still a good bet. It only took him 28 games, so if you’re Charles Barkley and can afford to bet $280,000 to win $1 million it would have been a good deal. :P
I did think about that. Assuming the same bet is available every game. Maybe you could pitch it to Charles. :D
And…he had the line again tonight, this time after just 7 more games. Only this time it was 18/17/3/2/3. Don’t think he’s ever done that before in his career.

You know as much confidence as you have in him, why aren’t you betting him to have those nights every night?

Because he doesn’t? And no player does?

Gafford just had 16/17/2/2/5 blocks on $12million

Ayton led his team in scoring tonight with 22 & 16 on 91.7% (!) field goal shooting. (Maybe he doesn't have to be spoon fed by a "point god" in order to be efficient?)

Real nice move creating his own shot against Gobert: https://www.nba.com/stats/events?CFID=& ... 204%20AST)

He was definitely keeping them in it as long as he could, before the Timberwolves eventually pulled away midway through the 4th quarter.

(He didn't do the thing though since he didn't have the block and steal.)

Cool… but did they win?

Now he shuts it down again for a couple of games. May have tweaked that rib.

Telling that you post a link to a single play. He's what, 6 years into his career now and a single play where he dribbles is worthy of highlighting. Lol. Dude ain't it and will never be it.

Is it still Monty’s fault? Seems Monty was making ayton actually look better.
