I don't want Jackson to be our "PG." Having an SF who can handle the ball is great, but he won't ever be as quick or agile as a true smaller PG. Spread the ball around, sure, but let's not have Jackson initiating all of our offense.

Yeah, like we really need more point guards.

We have a nice summer league roster but our first opponent, Sacramento, is stacked.

Lots of good information on our Summer Suns here including Jackson's first practice:

I don't think anyone suggested having him start at PG. Eric would still be there. But it would be wonderful to have a distributor initiate our offense instead of having Eric or Book go iso 80% of the time.

Best part of that article is Aaron Nelson re-upping.

We have a quite a few very good passers in Ulis, Booker, Jackson, Bender and even Chriss. I'm most concerned about Bledsoe even though the numbers show otherwise.

I generally get the feeling like Bledsoe gets his assists just because he has the ball the most and it's his job to pass. I don't think he makes others better. I've always said, there's a difference between 8 assists from Steph Marbury vs 8 assists from Steve Nash.

Well said. That's how I feel when watching.

So they show Bender putting up shots after practice, and everyone comments on how he looks like he's put on a little muscle in his upper body. What they don't show or report is if the shots are going in, or if it translates to the game. Also, no word on his freethrow shooting either. Aren't those the things that were really holding him back last year? I do like in theory that he will be doing a little more of the play making though. It just seems that winning this summer league is what is on even the players minds though.

Nah, we don't care if they go in. Just if he looks good shooting it. ;)

How is "passing impact on full display" if we don't see what happened next?

Yeah, partial display if anything. We have to assume that the basket was made.
