I think I want to wait. I am not sure Gordon is the real deal yet.

I like Aaron Gordon. I was looking at his stats vs TJ Warren's. Warren actually scores more points than Gordon, but that may be due to system/role. Gordon gets a few more boards per game, and he passes more willingly. The 3-point difference is pretty staggering; Gordon has clearly worked on that shot, while TJ can't hit the broad side of a barn from there.

I like TJ a lot, but if Orlando were willing to consider a deal like this based around these two players as the principals, think I'd go for it. Gordon seems like a guy whose game works in 2017's NBA. Warren, as much as I love him, I'm not sure you can build a winning NBA team with a guy like him. He isn't a great defender, he doesn't hit any 3s, and he is reluctant to pass so he doesn't make anybody else better. I think he's destined to be a "good stats / bad team" guy. If Warren can learn to hit corner 3s, I will retract all of the negative words.

Gordon: 17.6 ppg, 8.1 rpg, 2.1 apg, 0.6 blocks, .509 FG%, .415 3pt% (.308 career)
Warren: 18.7 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 1.3 apg, 0.9 blocks, .498 FG%, .120 3pt% (.290 career)

We need to keep this in mind when we start pining to trade all our young assets for some big name player. It better be the right player.
Like trading a ton of assets for Aaron Grodon.

Since when are Okafor and Noel part of anybodies big 3? I think Hinkie screwed up drafting Okafor, but otherwise I think they are fine.
Well, they are big - that's why I said literally :)
100% fair. They are big!

I just think that the genuine truth is that neither of those guys has much value in the league. Being tall isn't enough in today's NBA. You've got to be skilled, too.

You’re comparing a 22 year old 6’9 forward shooting 50% from the field and better than 40% from 3 with a washed up chucking Melo and Rose, neither of whom have been considered superstars for several years. Come on man.

That coach just signed his walking papers. I wonder what he said to Giannis.

Apparently Giannis is always like that but since he plays in Milwaukee people don't really know yet. This according to Bucks fans.

Found this to be an interesting story from the weekend, especially the quote I highlight .....

Fizdale said he wasn’t trying to send a message to Gasol.

“We’ll address it if it needs to be addressed but it was a pretty simple decision what I did,” Fizdale said. “It’s nothing against him,” Fizdale said. “I’m trying to win a game. I’m desperate. I took a risk. Sometimes when you take a risk you may (upset) a player or two. That’s part of this position. I can own the decision and I have my reasons why. Winning is my only priority.”

Gasol finished with 18 points on 6-of-17 shooting to go with five rebounds in 28 minutes.

He played at least nine minutes in each of the first three quarters before sitting the final frame.

"I mean, anyone wouldn't like it, right? You don't put Mike (Conley) back in? I'm sure they wouldn't do it to Mike. I don't know. It's just the way it is. You have to deal with it. But I'm not just going to lay down and take it.

“You try to prove them wrong. I should be playing in the fourth quarter. I think I’ve proven that different times. I’m not just going to accept not playing in the fourth quarter and be happy with it. That’s not my character.”

I don't really think it's newsworthy that one player sits out one quarter of one game. Coaches sometimes get a hot lineup and want to leave them in to see if they can deliver a win.

It's Marc's comments afterwards that made it newsworthy.

He'll have a chance to prove some things against the Spurs this week. But the Griz have been winless since Conley got hurt.

I wouldn't mind giving him his next shot.
It's interesting how often Memphis has changed coaches given that they were quite successful for the roster they have/had.

Wow! The CotY strikes again! I don't remember if he got it but he was right up there for it. Supposedly, his players loved him.

If they loved him so much, why did they age and why did some of them get injured? If he was a good coach, his players would still be in their primes and healthy.

Isn't Fizdale the guy who said, "Take that for data!"? - That quote (and the sentiment behind it) really turned me off to him. I don't think I would want a coach so openly opposed to the idea of data and analytics. We need a modern coach, not one mired in the past.
