Aren’t eurostats relatively stingy when it comes to awarding assists? Getting 10 in 22 minutes sounds pretty outrageous when the league leader averages like 5.

Could Luka end up being a Harden like player? Both are big physical guards with great vision and passing ability. Very capable ball handlers and diverse shot makers. Neither are great athletes or great defenders. Not expecting 30/10/8 numbers from Doncic but he could be in the harden mold.
Is Harden not a great athlete? He's built like a tank.
He’s not a tank he’s a clown
Yes, but a clown built like a tank.

Per 36 minute numbers of 28-16-16. Insane.

I would be ecstatic for 1 or 2. I don't care which it is, but it would be rough to fall to 3.

I could see a scenario in which pick #3 still yielded Doncic (but probably not Ayton).

I remember “La Bomba Navarro” who was coming as the best player in that league, and how ineffective he was in the NBA, that what worries about Doncic. Hopefully, Coach Kov can give us some insight on how capable Luka could be to live up to a Top2 selection, without emotional atachments to it and avoid a bullet.

The only gripe I've ever had about Doncic is I do not think he's a PG. I think he's a swing, we have Jackson/Booker there, I 1000% prefer him to Jackson and would trade him in a heartbeat if it yielded a PG with similar age/value and go with Doncic at SF.

I have some of the same concerns. He seems to be more pass-first than Harden and I don't mind the idea of having players share the ball and set each other up equally. Defensively tho, someone's got to guard a PG. That would have to be Jackson right? Booker guards 2s and Doncic switches to defending SFs?

I think you just play it by matchups. If the PG is George Hill, Rubio, Beverley, etc. You probably let Booker guard them. If it's Westbrook, Curry, Lillard, etc. You probably go Jackson. I still think it's possible Jackson and/or Doncic prove capable of defending some 4's, Doncic especially. In that case, you can play another 3-D guard to defend the 1 spot. That's where I like Khyri Thomas in this draft

One thing we haven't discussed is that the lottery is taking place in Chicago this year. This is the first year ever that the lottery has taken place outside of New York or New Jersey. Obviously, that means we're finally going to get our first #1 pick in franchise history.

We came in second-place to Chicago in our best ever franchise season (1993). That means we'll get the #2 pick!

I'm pretty sure LA gets the second pick until they get back into contention.

That would be Boston.

Or Cleveland. (As long as LeBron is on their team.) How many #1s have they had? Bastards!

Today: 4-4-1

Much better than my last attempt.

Though one of my 4’s had CLE at 3, which pissed me off.

I think we're a mortal lock to get the #3 pick. Because that's how things go for us.

We'll either end up with Bagley (who may turn out to be great), or we may be able to convince Doncic to poison the waters and say that he wants to play for Phoenix and won't come over to the US if anybody else drafts him. That could be our one chance to let him drop to our 3 spot.

I meant that LA pick being #2 this year would mean Boston gets it. Don't ask why :D
