Not to mention it is right before the all-star break. It really should be after the break, at least a few days. It gives GMs time to work their magic while the players are not in meaningful games and the GMs can do it face to face. Yeah, I thought the change was dumb, too. They said they did it so that the all-star weekend wasn't marred by worrying about being traded. But it's even worse if an all-star WAS traded, especially out of the conference. Now what team does he play for? And, as you say, the GMs can't get deals done as easily if they can't meet up. He could also say something good about the guy. I feel like there are 10-15 other centers he'd rather have than Ayton. Is he so stubborn to even admit the guy is improving in almost area we've knocked him in since he's been drafted? Yes, he isn't consistent. Yes, he still has a lot of strides to make.
