I wouldn't be too crazy about Morris closing against Gobert on an ongoing basis in a 7-game series, though. Could say the same about potential matchups against Davis, a theoretically healthy Nurkic, a theoretically aggressive Ayton; even guys like Poetl and Valanciunas could be trouble against that kind of lineup on the boards. To cite another one-game example, I recall they closed with Morris against the Nets, and DeAndre Jordan got late offensive rebounds that ended up sealing that loss for L.A.

And I really hate the concept of Morris trying to play significant minutes at the 5 if they match up with Denver. It'd be the same as them throwing Harrell in against Jokic last year with no hope of success, except maybe worse.

I still think if they could get another playable big man, it would be really useful to them for overall depth. Yeah, they might be able to get away with just Ibaka and Zubac, but given Ibaka's age and Zubac's lack of consistency, I feel like they're playing with fire.

Sorry to dirty up the Thread but saw this just now and we are playing Wolves tonight after all. Beasley is suspended as we know but man, he really put himself in a mess and probably best not to comment on Larsa

I am with Split on his Clippers take, pretty much everything he said. Neither Ibaka and Zubac stand up to a Gobert or Jokic one on one, but the two player depth is quite solid and maybe one of the better center depth combos in the league.

Would have mentioned this guy's analysis before as one I respect. Can't only acknowledge when he praises the Suns so reading some of this article is a bit of a bummer or awful truth

Ty Jerome has looked pretty good. I think he has a shot to have an NBA career.

I hope he does.

It's nice to see him improve, but I don't think he'll ever been an impactful player.

His NBA career will be mostly spent on bad teams because that's where he'll get minutes.

They don’t really have picks to trade and Luke Kennard might be the only asset they have that they’d be willing to move. Ball is better, so I’m not sure how they get this trade done unless they find someone who wants Beverley or Lou Williams.

I would hardly call Kennard an “asset.” That’s looking like the worst contract given out last offseason.

Ya...that’s why I said maybe. I do think Kennard is a decent player. Not a 13 million a year player, but he’s a good basketball player. He can shoot, which is what you want next to Zion, but so an Lonzo. I’m really not sure why NOP is so set on moving Lonzo. I think he’s a pretty good fit there. Maybe he just wants too much money. But I don’t think LA has anything beyond Kennard that they’d be willing to move. That’s my main point. I don’t see how they can give NOP enough.

Maybe because we have a tendency to give up too soon on big men development?

For whatever reason, Jones never seemed interested in bringing back Holmes. There was the weed charge in the summer, but I don't remember him really bring a priority for the FO even before that. Maybe there's something there we don't know about, as Philly traded him initially. Love his game tho, he's exactly what we and a lot of other teams could use.

Man if we still had Holmes I'd feel a whole lot better about doing something in the playoffs.
