I'd be surprised if they held him out since this is essentially his rookie offseason. They know he needs playing time more than anything.

His shot looks great, he looked physically more mature than everyone else out there and showed some nice versatility handling the ball. I do think we're doing him a bit of disservice playing him strictly as a 4 and having him stand in the corner waiting to shoot. He's a natural 5 IMO and should have an advantage at that position with his skills rather than be just a spot up 4. But this could just be part of his development, like giving Book reps at PG early on so it would pay off later with better playmaking skills.

I thought Ty looked good but it'll be hard for him to get minutes, especially now with Shamet on the roster.

The announcers were awful, shouldn't be hard to get the names right with the rosters right in front of you and there should be someone in their ear telling them as much.

He shot 2-8 from three, and .235 last season. That’s going to have to go up by a lot.

He looks good in rhythm tho and one of those 8 threes was the last shot of the game to win it.

Yea decent game
I've pretty much stated that I'm gonna stick to his last game against NBA guys and not read too much into these games

I like his shot and 2-8 from deep isn't cool but I was more puzzled by two airballs when he was wide open. I wasn't bothered about the game winning attempt but thinking of his potential regular season type opportunities, airballs especially on corner 3s will be a no no.

The two he hit were nice quick releases though so I believe he's quite capable of shooting a decent %

My other thing was defensive boards and I don't recall him giving up O-Rebs.

Hit ya spot up 3s
Rim Run and Seal or fill the lane
Defensive presence on the glass, protect the rim

That's basically Jalen's expectation and point 2 we probably not gonna get to evaluate much in SL based on guard play but what I would say is that I find myself a lil bummed when he doesn't get to a shot.
His rotation is usually solid and I don't know if I expect him to jump higher or what but seems like he just misses the block quite a bit when as I watch the play develop I'm saying he gonna swat it.
His chase down block was decent but yea if he can deter shots in his minutes that would obviously bode well

This wasn't like Mark Jones
Thought he would figure it out at least by 2nd quarter lol

I think Doris Burke knew but didn't want to correct Jones on air. But what about during commercial breaks?!

He definitely needs to work on his consistency. Sometimes he looks very smooth and accurate. Other times he's way off.

It’s nice that he’s confident with the grab and go, but his handle looked a little shaky to me. The halfcourt is where any ball-handling skills will be much more impactful.

Nope. ESPN 2 was for our last game. Tonight is on NBA TV. 7 pm.

Here's the schedule:

Summer Suns have missed like their first 12 shots or something like that. Just awful basketball right now

Suns are shooting 3-22 after an entire quarter of basketball.

Jalen Smith has looked…well…not good.

In his defense no one else has either

Suns shooting 18% with about 3 minutes left in the first half. That's enough bad basketball for me.

Stix is 1-9 from the field.
He does have 8 rebounds. Given the number of missed shots, he could easily accumulate 20 boards tonight ...
