Anyone still thinking that Ayton is easily replaceable?
He was when we had a full team. He’s definitely not now.

Side note, Biyombo really can’t be playing with Craig and Okogie. That’s just an abysmal offensive unit. There were far too many plays where the read was to get the ball on the short roll to Biyombo and he’s useless there. It kills the offense and he just has to try and find some bailout pass. At least Jock can do something with the ball. If we’re gonna start Biz I think Ross or Warren also needs to be out there.

And by full team I mean before the KD trade. We kinda need him even when KD is healthy as well.

Biyombo had 6 points in the first 6 minutes and then never scored again.

I missed the beginning of the game, but that tells me Sacramento probably switched how they defended the roll. They were probably in a drop and switched to two on the ball which forced the ball to Biz way earlier than we want.

Playing small ball against Sabonis is interesting. Really small sample and it was late when he was probably a bit fatigued, but he didn't attack the same as when defended by Jock or Biz. The PnR with him and Monk/Fox was absolutely shredding the Suns for a stretch with a traditional Center in the game as well.

They started the game jumping out on a lot of the screens. It made for a lot of easy looks in the paint and open shots when the ball handler rejected the screen.

The starting lineup we trotted out tonight was atrocious. We had basically 3 guys who can't score (Okogie, Craig, and Biyombo). At game's end they had 2, 4, and 6 points. I like all of those guys, but I don't think we can play them together, especially not against a high-scoring team like the Kings.

Despite my harping on Okogie's 4-point game, I thought his defense was phenomenal (the blocks on Sabonis! ho brother!) and he always hustles and even attacks the basket and draws contact. I don't really ever mind his being out there. Craig on the other hand can really disappear and feels like a net negative more often than not. I think I would have maybe started TJ Warren tonight. I liked Warren's minutes and his offensive presence. He's struggled as a Sun but you can see he just knows how to get himself into a scoring position.

I don't get all the whining about the refs. Yeah Scott Foster made a couple of really bad calls. But I don't think that's why we lost, and it's absolutely not a valid reason to lose composure or hang our heads. Monty complained about the refs the other day and got fined; what, did we expect kid gloves from them this game? That isn't how it works. We could have won this game, maybe even should have won it. The refs didn't steal this game from us. The loss is on us and we should own it.

#4-12 in the West are ridiculously close. I don't know what our seed is going to be, I just want us to be healthy and stay out of the play-in.

Was gonna post exactly this. It should be obvious.

Suns can’t blame the refs for this one. Once again they had an awful, undisciplined stretch that cost them the game. Feels like we’ve had one of those each of the last 7 games. CP used to keep us composed, but now he’s part
if the problem with sloppy play and bad decisions as the wheels are coming off. Also, why did he take a 2 when we were down 6 with 20ish seconds left? His play in the clutch this season, save for a few games, has been rough.

We badly need a Tyus Jones type this offseason. Maybe Monte Morris. I can’t handle Payne anymore.

I do like how coach has gone to TJ even though his play hasn’t warranted it. If he can even get back to 75% of what he was, that’s a much better player than Lee or Ish.

Today I found myself wondering why Damion Lee has completely fallen out of the rotation. I know the guy has flaws, but he was leading the entire league in 3pt% earlier. He can come in off the bench and score, and we really need some 3-point shooting.

I was wondering about Lee the last few games and I think he might be too one dimensional with his offense ala Jae but isn't defending well enough either to take minutes from anyone else. He's a C+S threat so I think he may come back around when KD and DA are back and we need a more consistent outside threat. Right now it might just be a matter of needing more dribble drive threats like Okogie, Ross, Shamet, TJ over Lee.

Now EJ is going to be fined for talking about officials. He took Ed Malloy to task last night.

We can't defend our way out of a wet paper bag right now. We allowed 135 stinking points last night! They scored at will on us.

The Ed Malloy game. What a fucking douchebag. Sure the Suns made mistakes and struggled on defense but they shouldn't have to overcome officials personal vendettas night after night. Fans don't come to see you, Ed. Prick.

Damian Lee hasn’t been consistently good in months.
