Game Day: Suns (39-35) @ Jazz (35-39), Mon 3/27/23

When Bizzy isn't fouling everything on the floor, he's pretty useful against the bigger bigs.
Love, Hurts.

That was Mark West ... strong, good defender, couldn't shoot from more than five feet away, foul prone.
Well, so much for hopes and dreams ...

We'd be really good if we had Durant and a non-washed Chris Paul. At t his point the only thing Paul is giving us is a coach on the floor w/ a steady hand. He can still pass the rock & run an offense but can't get to the rim, can't hit that patented mid-range any longer. I think we should play Durant if he's ready Wednesday.
Go Suns!

Glad the Suns got the win.
Ayton looked sharp on offense
But...
Games like this are why I don't trust Monty in the playoffs. Some 30 year old coached circles around him. That second quarter was a disaster.
Clearly we needed shooting and he rolls with CP, Landry, and Bizzy. Really dude?
Drives me nuts how married to CP he is. CP was 4-12 on wide open shots. The offense flowed so much better when Payne was in. Know your personnel. Put CP back in in the 4th and the offense bogged right back down.
Shamet was +14 but was another 0fer. Guy is shooting 40% since coming back and 38% for the season. Enough of the BS. We know what he is.
The refs know Monty is soft and I think it's a game to them to see what dumbass calls they can get away with because they know he won't fo anything about it.
Glad to have KD back next game and escape this one. Go Suns!

I didn’t watch, but nobody really shot well. Paul is gonna play, he’s not getting benched

They’re getting familiar with one another. Their shots are looking better and better. I hope Monty can keep them going once KD is back. These guys need to hang 30 ppg in the playoffs.LazarusLong wrote: ↑Mon Mar 27, 2023 8:25 pmBench picked up the Suns tonight.

*Biyombo reminding me of Mark West on a good night.
*TJ looks to be getting in the groove.
*Ross erratic at times, but hit money shots.
*Wainright bombing from distance.

That was a lot of fun. Unfortunately, I don’t have any amazing stories. Monty was vocal with the refs once or twice but overall wasn’t barking at them. Will Hardy was much louder with his complaints.
I was looking to see if Booker was flexing with hand after he got smacked. He didn’t seem to be but he didn’t make another outside shot after that point. I hope it’s just a jammed finger and not anything more severe. He had it taped up all game.
Landry had an opportunity to force his way into the 6th man role, but it just isn’t happening. I wonder if he’ll be better when Durant is back and he just has to sit in the corner and shoot open 3s. He’s rough off movement.
Last thing, my partners offered to buy me a jersey after the game, but it had to be a Jazz one. They had current players and former Jazz stars. Any guesses on who I went with? This was not easy as a Suns fan.

I thought the Suns had a more favorable whistle in the 1.5 quarters I watched.
IIRC, you're an ASU guy, so not Markkanen.
I'd go Juzang, but I don't know if they'd sell those.
I'd pick Kessler, so I'll go with it.

I would have gone Hornacek had it been available.
Felt weird to get a current player (I would have gone Kessler) and I sure as hell wasn't wearing a Karl Malone jersey. Stockton's recent behavior ruled him out as well. They had those guys in the classic Jazz mountain-peak jersey and the white '92 All Star Game jersey, which were sick.
I went AK-47. I always liked him. Felt kind of punk rock. Also he's totally neutral as a Suns fan.

If you mean allowing them to tie it and go up by 2 for a couple of minutes, then yes.

That's why he gets paid the big bucks.TOO wrote: ↑Mon Mar 27, 2023 8:23 pmWatching him consistently beat Ayton down the floor was something else man.LazarusLong wrote: ↑Mon Mar 27, 2023 8:12 pmAgree. Not just a big lug, has a feel for the game. And Markkanen is developing a nice two-man game with him.

Thought Booker might have jammed his finger, the way he shook his hand after contact during one shot.Shabazz wrote: ↑Mon Mar 27, 2023 9:27 pmThat was a lot of fun. The Jazz jersey I'd have been partial to is Mark Eaton.
What a great back story to his career.
RIP to the big guy...
