I can’t believe what I just watched. ESPN has a show called Highly Questionable and this dude had the guts to say that the NBA should send a cooler into this series as it wouldn’t be good to have a bunch of Mountain Standard time teams remaining in the Western Conference playoffs (Suns/Nuggets/Jazz/Mavs). I guess I shouldn’t be surprised as this crap is in line with the name of the show.
The Clips are going to beat the Mavs.

Probably.
Oh? Good thing you added a qualifier.

Crowder has gotten a lot of crap for his shooting, but his +/-‘s look pretty darn good.

Ya I’ve been expecting that the whole time. It’s really a win-win. Paul gets a long term deal and Sarver avoids the luxury tax next season while still having some flexibility to add to the team. I think it’s inevitable that we’ll be a tax team in 22-23 when the Ayton-Bridges extensions kick in, but Sarver won’t want to be a multi-year tax team.

There is no way he gets the max right? 140/3?

No...the article says 3/100, I can’t imagine him getting more than that...now if we win the title and he’s finals mvp? Just give him everything, haha

BR article suggests Ayton max, Mikal near-max, CP3 100 over 3. Luxury tax city.

It said the lowest would be 100/3, and that he wants to play 4 more years. If he is finals mvp I think he gets the 140/3.

The real question is, how much will Payne get paid next year, and who will be paying him?

Mikal at near-max will be tough. Bridges is a great player but he isn't a star or an anchor of a team. I feel like we're going to get stuck in a rut with some of these big contacts. I hope we get Bridges to resign at a slight discount given that he has struggled offensively in these playoffs.

I hope he doesn’t continue to struggle.

Along with that is the ‘how do we improve’ question. We know there are still spots we need to improve upon and if you are standing still you are going backwards in this league.
Excited to be where we are. Paul will be a year older if he stays and although his production is still world class that’s a lot of money on wearing shoulders.
Leaves little room to improve at the 4 or back up 5 & 4 spots.

With that said though I trust Monty & James Jones (Halliburton notwithstanding!)

Problem here is that we are deeply flawed at the 4, if we just paid everyone and return the same, we are likely to take a dip, as teams will be better prepared to play us and also will take us more seriously.
