I just don't understand how you can be 7' feet tall. Play at the basket. And attempt zero FTs in a game in which you've played 33 minutes.
Davis, Howard and Jordan were bouncing him around. Refs let that go.
Ayton did have 15 boards.

The Lakers haven't won a game (playoff, preseason or regular season - 0-11) since they mocked the Suns in game 3 of their playoff series.

I should amend it to say that I know he was fouled. I don't understand how they don't call it. Or how he doesn't make them call it.

Nor can the Suns brass. Ayton playing far too paper soft near the rim to be demanding a 5 year max.

I went back and looked at some of the stats. Bridges played even better than I'd remembered: 21 points on 8-11 shooting, 5 boards, 3 assists, 3 steals. He was all over the place and really felt like the player of the game IMO. Chris Paul had a great game with 23 points (6-12 FG, 10-10 FT) and 14 assists. Ayton had a quiet offensive game but ended up with 8 points and 15 rebounds. Booker still seemed a little off but had 22 points on 9-19 shooting.

Off the bench, JaVale had another solid game with 9 points on 4-5 shooting. The one concern I had in this one was that both of our bench guards played poorly. Cam Payne shot 1-5 and Shamet shot 1-4; they both seemed ineffective when I was watching. Hopefully they just need to find their rhythm.

I thought most of the Lakers roster outside of their big 4 (Lebron, AD, Westbrick, and Melo) played poorly. I just don't like their roster construction at all. The one thing that seemed to keep them in the game is that they hit 44% of their 3s as a team (!) including 4-6 by Melo, 5-9 by Lebron, and 2-3 by Reaves (who I liked). I still think the Lakers are overrated and are going to have to work hard to secure a playoff spot just like last year. They're old and their stars don't mesh well together, and they have a really questionable defense. Their roster last year had much better defenders off the bench such as KCP, Caruso, and Schroder, all guys who gave our guards fits in last year's playoffs. This year they seem to have grabbed bench guys who are much worse defensively IMO.

That was one of Bridges best all around defensive games I thought, which is impressive for him.

Payne is still a 3 or layup guy. But he's such a threat with his speed going downhill that the defense can't ever relax. Also opened up some looks for others for a few nice assists. Shamet never got into any rhythm whatsoever. McGee was OK but looked a little rough at times on offense.

Book started out 1-6, so finishing with 22 on 9/19 is a pretty big turn around. And he finished 1-4... so those two middle quarters were 7/9. sheeeeesh as the kids say.

Not enough data to know for sure, but I wonder whether Payne hinders Shamet a bit. Payne isn't the best at setting up others or making passes, and he's pretty ball-dominant. Shamet seems a bit wasted out there with Payne next to him. I actually think Shamet would play well next to Chris Paul. Maybe if Book and CP3's minutes are staggered a bit, Coach can try to give Shamet more time next to CP3 so he'll get more looks.

I liked the fact that the Lakers felt like their was a sliver of hope of winning the game late and kept their aging starters in to the bitter end and all for nothing. I didn’t like that we have a back to back and had to keep our starters in longer than should have been necessary.

If we can get that sort of game from bridges consistently we're going to be a hard team to beat.

Well this is an interesting stat they just gave
Nuggets game is the first time we've lost our season opener since 2017 ?!?

I haven't actually checked that but through all those rough years we usually still won game one

Wow
I know many that don't appreciate LeBron because of his frontrunning nature
It's all good for him to showboat, talk his ish when he's ready but sometimes he doesn't look like the most gracious loser

This is really how in his feelings he was last night ?!?! :? :x
Well Well

Man, that Payne blow by of Westbrook and then high finish off the glass over AD while getting fouled was a thing of beauty!

Chris Paul loves this team. He made a comment about in his 17 years in the league, this is his favorite locker room. Props again to Jones and Monty.
