Wow, reminds me of Shaq's son who essentially lost any hope of a professional career before ever really getting a chance to make it. Obviously glad to hear Bronny is OK.

Everyone freaks out every year about these deals but they’re going to keep going up. It’s no different than the supermax deals signed in previous years. It’s just worth more because the salary cap went up. It’s still a 35% of the cap deal. Same contract Booker and Beal are on.
Booker’s next deal could potentially pay him 100 million in the last year

Precedence doesn’t mean it’s right….
Well some of us like taking our families to games without having to mortgage our future for it…. We’re the ones paying for these contracts, not the owners. That’s why I take issue with this.
At some point, the bubble will pop…. Fans aren’t going to pay $100/seat for nose bleeds.

Oh well that’s a different issue. I thought you were saying it was an overpay in basketball terms. I agree it’s ridiculous how much they get paid in general. Sucks that they are pricing out a lot of people.Kryptonic wrote: ↑Tue Jul 25, 2023 9:53 amPrecedence doesn’t mean it’s right….

As we all know, they will continue to prices tickets as high as they can as long as they continue to sell.

Re: 2023 General Offseason/PostSeason League News
Do you think the max salary should be higher, lower, or that there should be no max (limited only by the salary cap)? 35% of the cap is a ton of money. I wish it were lower. But a lot of folks argue that having no max (or a much higher max) would lead to more realistic negotiations since there wouldn't just automatically be a number both sides agree on immediately. I'm not sure.

Dame Lillard and his agent warned by the NBA for telling non-Miami teams not to trade for him.

Re: 2023 General Offseason/PostSeason League News
I doubt the league will really do anything, and I realize this is a bit thin given our recent pursuit of KD and Beal, but I do think it's a big problem when these star players sign huge multi-year contracts and then almost immediately demand a trade to a very small group of teams (or even to just a single team).
