This is fully how I anticipate it going. Unless we trade out, I think Tatum at 3 fits better than Jackson and we take Jackson.Superbone wrote:Haller's latest mock draft:

He has Boston taking Tatum and us taking Jackson after Fultz and Ball go 1 and 2.
2017 Suns NBA Draft (4th, 32nd, 54th)

But again, if the Cs get Hayward (still a big IF), then Tatum's a bit redundant as a scorer and they'd need Jackson's defensive versatility if the Cavs end up with LBJ and PG/Butler.
Re: 2017 Suns NBA Draft (4th, 32nd, 54th)
They cant draft with no guarantee they land Hayward. Ainge isnt that dumb. Plus, Hayward is a solid defender in his own right, they have defenders, they need scoring.ShelC wrote:But again, if the Cs get Hayward (still a big IF), then Tatum's a bit redundant as a scorer and they'd need Jackson's defensive versatility if the Cavs end up with LBJ and PG/Butler.
Re: 2017 Suns NBA Draft (4th, 32nd, 54th)
Tatum does seem to make the most sense for Boston. They've got crowder, smart, brown, and Bradley as defensive oriented wings that struggle offensively.
Re: 2017 Suns NBA Draft (4th, 32nd, 54th)
I prefer Tatum over Jackson. I might even prefer Isaac over Jackson but I just don't like Isaac's fit here unless we're keen to move Bender. If Tatum is gone I'd give serious consideration to drafting Fox and moving Bledsoe to get back in the lottery somewhere. If it's on the back end I'd try to get a young player also. We could pick up either Zach Collins (Like his outside shooting & shot blocking) or John Collins (DX calls him the best pick & roll finisher in the NCAA.)TheOriginalOriginal wrote:This is fully how I anticipate it going. You and I are in the same boat here, Id take Fox over Isaac and Jackson both, trade Bledsoe etc etc.carey wrote:I prefer Tatum over Jackson. Jackson has already worked out for us, right? It kind of tips the Celtic's hand if he now does work out for them. Unless they make it a secret workout, I guess.

Thanks for the link. I still like his fit next to Booker a lot. Of course, everyone sounds good at draft time, but this is a big defender who can play at his spot now and grow into a bigger role as he matures. Obvs, I wouldn't take him with the 4, but I would be happy to get him + something.carey wrote:New video from DX on Ntilikina. http://www.draftexpress.com/article/fra ... ysis-6054/
he seems like an ideal candidate to play next to a ball-dominant scorer at either the one, two, or three
Among the top on-ball defenders in this draft, Ntilkina is arguably the most polished point guard in this class on that end of the floor, one of the reasons he was able to play such a significant role at the professional level while still figuring things out offensively.

Re: 2017 Suns NBA Draft (4th, 32nd, 54th)
I really want to make some sort of deal with kings for the 5th pick because it seems even at the 5th pick we are getting a player we really like, so why not try and get some extra assets while we are at it? Suns draft board at 4 seems to be Jackson, Tatum, Fox and Isaac, and at least 2 of those players will be there at 5. We would get a player we want, plus some goodies.

Yeah, I would do that. I think we could probably squeeze for more but that's a pretty good deal for me.In2ition wrote:Not bad.Shabazz wrote:#5 and Bogdan for #4?Wally_West wrote:I really want to make some sort of deal with kings for the 5th pick because it seems even at the 5th pick we are getting a player we really like, so why not try and get some extra assets while we are at it? So with the Russell trade Lakers are taking Ball or Fox , probably Lonzo so I guess it does come down to Tatum n Jackson after all

Or Fox. McD won't shy away from taking whoever he feels is BPA.
Re: 2017 Suns NBA Draft (4th, 32nd, 54th)
Yeah, Gambo is reporting that it's either Tatum, Jackson or Fox. With the 2nd pick, it's going to be Davon Reed. (Ughhhhh!)
