2017 NBA Draft Prospect Discussion

Post by Danimal »

Yes the draft is a long way away, but given its likely to be a long season for our Suns, it will be fun to keep an eye on what the future may hold

Markelle Fultz and Josh Jackson are my early favorites, but the draft looks pretty strong right now. We should be able to get a good piece next year.

I'll just be curious how the season goes. It looks very very promising for the 2017 draft, but that could change.

Haha it would be so modern Suns-like to be just decent this year after having the #4 and #8 picks on a supposedly weak draft.

Modern Suns: Weak draft = Get high pick, double down on same position ; Strong draft = Win to drop into the mediocre/poor portion of the draft

30-6-7 for Markelle Fultz in his first game.

19-11-8 for Lonzo Ball.

It looks like you will get that high pick.

This is a great year to be top 3. And we are pretty bad. I see us going one of two ways atm. Going all in on a disgruntled star like Boogie (long shot) or moving veterans (even Bledsoe) by Christmas and going all in on the youth brigade.

This is going to be a good year period in the lottery and beyond. You might get the best player in the mid or late lottery. Very deep and talented class of freshmen this year. Bad year for Centers, but great year for PGs. Of course, that might mean we target a Center though.

I agree that those are the options that make the most sense. Unfortunately, we don't seem to go all in too often.

Josh Jackson from Kansas is looking excellent right now.

Josh Jackson and Markelle Fultz are my early favorites. Giles, if healthy, is a future star. Very intrigued by Frank Ntilikina as well.

Yup, swallow that pill, choke it down, and make sure you do it with a smile on your face. ;)

Keep an eye on Chris Boucher. He's a senior and a bit frail looking for the NBA, but he's NBA athletic at 6'10", 7'3" wingspan and has a nice stroke.

I feel like Jackson is still figuring out how to go from stud athlete to great basketball player whereas Fultz is both.

I agree about GIles, but can he be a full time 5?

Ya, I've got Fultz #1 on my board right now.

We'll have to wait and see Giles play to see if he can be a full time 5. A future frontline of Chriss/Bender/Giles would be interesting and massive.
