pagielak wrote:Hey guys, just a quick question. I contacted the Phoenix Suns ticket office and they said I could pay a deposit of $200 to guarantee tickets. What is the average price of a ticket in a semi-good seat and do you think I should pay the deposit or just wait for other opportunities?
I came back to AZ for the Al McCoy ROH night last season. I sat center court, I think in row 7. I paid ~320/seat.

I think it would make sense to wait until tickets go on sale and try the box office or the Ticket Exchange. No need to pay $200 now.
Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. It probably is better to wait than to lock myself into something like that right now. For better or worse there probably are going to be tickets for sale for Suns games, I'm not expecting sold-out crowds unless it's the Warriors, Cavaliers and such.
Exactly. Although any big city team has a good following in Phoenix, because 2/3 of the people are from somewhere else. You should probably lock in your dates as close to the schedule release as possible to make sure you can get the seats you want. I have sat all over that arena, and honestly, any seat in the lower bowl that isn't on the baseline is a good one.

Here's a joke for y'all, I figure he might be old news now but I came across the "Bronze Cowboy" on Youtube yesterday and just because he works in Old Town Scottsdale I watched a bunch of his vids  . Even checked Google to see how far away that is from the arena sigh smh

Ok, so the schedule is finally out so I decided to book tickets from 8.11 till 22.11. I will be travelling to LA but I guess there will be no problem to buy plane tickets to Phoenix. I am currently looking at 3 games to attend to : vs magic, wolves and Lakers. If any one of you guys will be in phx during these games let me know. Now I just have book tickets from lax to phx and of course buy tickets to the games. I will hit In2 about hotels as well ;-) if any of you International posters is interested in the whole process of booking tickets and going to games I will post news about the current stages I'm at. Go Suns!

It's been awhile since we had a Phxsuns.net group go to a game together. Maybe we can plan something this year. Fridays and Saturdays are tough for me since I almost always have to work then. Then of course Fridays and Saturdays are the best days for everybody else.

Pagielak,

I am an old local Phx guy that has lived here a long time.
The America West/US Airways/Talking Stick Arena is located in Downtown Phx. There are quite a few hotels and restaurants close by. The Convention Center is there too as well as the Diamondbacks stadium Chase Field. All those people eat and stay somewhere.

As was mentioned, Marjeles is a must for any real Suns fan. It's an ok place but, it's Majerle's! There is a Hard Rock Cafe as soon as you leave Talking Stick Arena. There is a sort of mall (AZ Center) close by.
https://www.arizonacenter.com
They have a Hooter's there if you are into attractive food.

We have a rail system that I have yet to ride but, people I know do ride it. It pulls up right next to the arena. Uber is popular here too for getting around.

The Grand Canyon is several hours away by car. That's kind of a whole day thing of you are leaving Phoenix and coming back. It is pretty impressive and unless you are Chevy Chase(Vacation). The Grand Canyon is so expansive that it can almost look more like a rocky valley instead of a canyon in places. There is a fairly new feature the added that allows you to walk over the edge of the canyon in a glass bridge. Appearently it's safe. It must be a pretty impressive view though. They do have a hotel near there too I think.
https://grandcanyon.com/planning/west-p ... nyon-west/

There are a few small branches of the Grand Canyon that I really enjoyed more than the main canyon. The edges aren't nearly as far apart as the main canyon at all and yet the go straight down a long ways. It struck me as more impressive for some reason.

Canyon De Chelly is a pretty cool place located in the NE corner of the state or as we in the area call it the four corners area. AZ, Utah, Colorago and New Mexico all connect at a dot. Canyon De Chelly is a National Park and historical native Indian site that takes up a large area. If you saw the movie Eiger Sanction with Clint Eastwood you might recognize spider rock. There are cliff dewellings etc. You end up hiking a lot there.

You pass through Flagstaff and in the winter time if weather permits they have snow skiing at the Snow Bowl. If you are from Poland then you are probably quite familiar with snow.

A cool place to stay in Scottsdale about a half hour drive away from Talking Stick Arena is Talking Stick Resort. It's a hotel with entertainment, swimmng pool, bars, golf, restaurants and of course a Casino. https://www.talkingstickresort.com/?&gc ... fgodEokPxA

There is a new aquarium OdySea right next store. http://www.odyseaaquarium.com

There is also a new new sky diving thing iFly close by as well. https://www.iflyworld.com/phoenix/

I live in town and when I want to party I go there. They can have semi major concerts there too. I like it because I can go drink and have fun in one all inclusive place and not worry about driving buzzed.

There is another cheaper hotel called Hampton Inn in the same parking lot. You can easily walk to Talking Stick Resort from there if you want to save some money.

I forget if I've mentioned here that my parents recently moved (back) to Tucson for retirement. That means I'll be visiting Arizona a lot more in the future than I have over the past ~5-10 years. I might be able to drive up to Phoenix area and catch a game or a beverage with some of you fine folks. :-) Will keep you posted.

Thanks a lot for finding time and writing down all of this cool stuff Nodack!
I have yet to buy tickets to the games I mentioned in my earlier post but I think that the monday game against LAL would be great to attend together. Obviously I will be on vacation and have a lot of free time so it all depends on what you guys prefer.
I saw that the tickets to single games are already on sale. Do you think I should buy some already or wait a bit longer?

If you are going to head up north, I would recommend you go to Antelope Canyon. To me, it is much more beautiful than the Grand Canyon. You have to see both, though.

OK so I've got a little problem with tickets, which is how many games I am going to attend and which seats are ok for watching the game. I am aiming at the Magic, Wolves and LAL games and the ticket prices vary greatly. Cheapest tickets for the Magic and Wolves are form $13 but the seats are in the upper bowl and I don't know if the I am going to see anything. On the other hand the LAL tickets are much more expensive and start form around $40 in the upper bowl. I was thinking about going to all three games but I guess in order to do that I will have to buy the cheaper tickets which are higher.
Does it even make sense to watch a game from the upper bowl? Which part of the arena would you suggest?

I would avoid any of the seats on the ends (behind the boards), and would greatly encourage to sit in the lower bowl. If you aren't going to shell out $300 a ticket to sit in the first few rows at center court, I would recommend about half-way up on the corners, but closer to the middle than the end. I have had season tickets in many places (upper and lower bowl), and I found this area to be the best bang for the buck.

Just looked at the chart:
Sections 104/105, 111/112, 116/117, 123/124

I've sat in the middle of the upper bowl, and I'll say that you can see better than on TV, but the game feels very far away.. If you can afford the sections Indy suggested, they are much much better. But if the upper bowl fits your budget better, you will still have a great time.

I used to have season tickets on the end behind the backboard, but in the upper bowl. I was right at the railing behind the handicapped section. I thought it was the best value in the arena. I only paid $12 a game per seat, and it was the exciting time of SSOL era. My buddy that shared the season tickets with me had a friend that was an usher in the lower bowl. At halftime we would go down and sit in seats in the lower bowl that weren't being used. It was a fun time.

I was in the lower bowl for some of the SSOL years and I don't remember a lot of empty seats around. But to be honest, I had two very young kids at the time and sold most of the tickets that were mid-week or late games.

You're right, there weren't a lot of them, we had to scope them out. That's one of the reasons that the Suns took away the ability to just move down freely when there were empty seats. I think they are allowing it again, but as soon as they start selling out again, it will be gone.

I keep peeping at this thread and hoping that it doesn't take forever for my opportunity to get to go to come around. Sorry if I keep saying it but you guys are lucky to get to go to Live games even though we not contenders now, but like Indy mentioning going during the SSOL days , wow that must have been great stuff :o

I' ve got my tickets! I had to change my plans a bit cause it turned out my friend from Poland is also travelling to the States, he's going to LA a day later, but he already bought tickets to the Rockets game on November 16 in section 104. So I decided that it is not a bad idea, I get to see Harden and CP3 as well, so I bought the ticket in the same section. Also I decided that one game is not enough and I bought one ticket for the Wolves game. The Wolves ticket is one of the cheaper ones, it's in the upper bowl but at least I get to see at least 2 games. I am still thinking about LAL but I will see how it goes.
Now that I got my tickets I really can't wait!
Let me know if any of you will have time to meet before, after or at the games!

Hey everyone. So my trip is about to begin, I am leaving tomorrow very early in the morning and my plane is supposed to touch down in Phoenix at 7 p.m.
I have just one quick question regarding our jerseys. Is it better to buy in an official Suns shop at the Talking Stick Resort Arena or in a sports shop somewhere in Phoenix? If you think an ordinary sport shop is a better option, which one would you recommend?

Thanks a lot, and hopefully see you soon!
