It’s quite amazing because Kyrie is playing excellent defense. Is he more motivated, better coached? It is easier to play better defense with better defenders around you.

Brad Stevens is his coach instead of Tyronn Lue.
Coaching matters so much in the NBA. It's a travesty that we let Watson helm this team for a second after the 15-16 season ended.

In other news, the Thunder stink. They are at 4-7, only a half-game ahead of the lowly Phoenix Suns, good for 12th in the West.

The Cavs also boast a lovely record of 5-7, good for 11th in the East.

The only thing worse than this "experiment" are Memphis draft picks :)

Kings beat the Sixers last night, with nobody playing 30 minutes or more. Their bigs held Embiid to pretty bad shooting (although he still got his points and rebounds). I think the Kings and Bulls will be better at the end of the season than they have shown so far. Still not good, but we have a chance to be worse.

I think the Kings have some room for improvement, but I think the bulls are far and away the worst team in the league.

Worse that the Mavs? I think Chicago will look better after the allstar break. They have young guys who will improve, and LaVine could be back in game shape by then.

This one seems to be sparking a little debate because Brogdon is going to the bench, mainly fantasy league sites :)

Ha ha! Great stuff!
Josh Jackson wrote:"The physicality of the NBA game is crazy," he tells Bleacher Report. "Like our [third] game of the season, I'm f--king guarding Blake Griffin. And I'm barely 200 pounds."

Basically, it was Josh saying, "holy shit I am too skinny for this right now."

Mavs are pretty bad and they are letting Smith Jr run the show and he's going to make a lot of mistakes, but he's better than Dunn. And they do have Barnes, Matthews, Dirk, and Noel. They are competent NBA players.

What's Chicago's eventual rotation: Dunn/Lavine/Holiday/Markkanen/Lopez

That's kinda ugly, but I guess we'll see how Lavine looks.

Good read, just a very general article about adjusting to life in the NBA. Thanks for posting.
