In Jay Triano's time, we are 7-8. If we keep this up, we will be that 38ish win team we thought this roster should be.

That guy has such an effortless quick release. Its faster than Devin's and not as much motion. He shoots a three like its a five footer.

I think we should give him some time this season. We're likely keeping him down there until one of Bender/Chriss are injured.

We are 7 and 11. Keep in mind that:

1. We started out 0-3, losing two of them by 40+

2. We have $90M in salary under contract.

3. Almost every game this season has been played without 4 of our 5 top paid players

3a. Some nights it has be all five of our top 5 players

3b. On nights without 4 out of the top 5, that means we're only fielding 40 million worth of salary (How well would any other team do if they were only allowed to have a 40M cap?)

3c. On nights where it was 5 out of 5, it means we were a team with a salary cap of only 30M.

In summary, given how bad a team with only 40M in player salary should be, we are radically exceeding expectations.

That's the most optimistic post I've ever seen from Worm.

Seriously, who's that guy and what did he do with the real Worm?

Suns nugget in Zach Lowe's weekly piece:
9. Phoenix, without both its creators

Without Eric Bledsoe and Brandon Knight, the Suns have only two guys who can reliably create offense off the bounce -- Devin Booker and T.J. Warren. (On some nights, you can add Tyler Ulis and Mike James, but both are limited; no defense is scared of them.)

The Suns' offense dies when they both sit. Phoenix has scored just 94.4 points per 100 possessions in 182 such minutes -- a hair below Chicago's league-worst overall team mark, per NBA.com.

Maybe it doesn't matter. Phoenix isn't trying to win, even though they've been competitive under Jay Triano. There is developmental value in letting Ulis, Josh Jackson and Dragan Bender stretch themselves. It just isn't fun to watch.

P.S.: Warren is a midrange and floater wizard -- the NBA's Man of A Thousand Release Points -- but it would be nice if he occasionally passed the ball.

[Video of Warren missing a wide open Chandler off a curl play]

Tyson Chandler has suffered so much unrequited lob love during his sad time in Phoenix. Warren is dishing just 1.6 assists per 36 minutes. Meanwhile, he's jacking almost 19 shots per 36 minutes. Only 27 rotation players have ever shot so often while recording so few assists, and almost all of them were behemoth big-man finishers.

Over the last 5 games, Ulis has shot 47.7% overall and 44.4% from 3. Houston whooped us, but I feel like the open game got Ulis out of his funk.

Also since that Houston game, Jackson is shooting 46% with 4 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.4 steals. He's going to look better and better as the season progresses.

I hate starting Monroe + Chandler. Chriss had a good game, but only managed 16 minutes off the bench. Boo.
