I've only watched him a couple times, but I haven't been impressed. Was mostly invisible.INFORMER wrote:I would stay far away from Kevin Knox in the draft.

Physical aggressiveness and raw power. Maybe Amare is a better comparison.INFORMER wrote:Bagley defensive awareness is nonexistent. He definitely has a position though, so I don't where that knock is coming from. He does have the kind of mentality on the offensive end that you want from a top pick/superstar.JCSunsfan wrote:Bagley is interesting. He is being nit-picked like Tatum was last year, but for different reasons. The knock on Tatum was lack of athleticism. But the idea that he might not have an NBA position was part of it. Marvin Bagley is 20 of 54 from the 3 for this year. That is 37%. He does not shoot a high volume, but it looks like he might be able to do more. He is one of the most active, aggressive players in college basketball. There are so many ways in which he reminds me of a young LeBron, just bigger (I am not saying he is as good, etc). Its just the athleticism, strength, intimidating frame,
I don't get the LeBron reference though.
Re: NCAA Thread 2017-18
I think he can be a violent dunker, but it is mainly off of lobs and interior passes. If he is creating his own shot, he is a little too content to lob floaters and try running one-handed bank-shots.
Trendon Watford. Please and thank you.

Sounds easy.Split T wrote:I think he can play pf just fine, especially if you can put a rim protecting stretch 5 next to him. Like you said, a lot of it is nit picking as he'd be the no doubt #1 guy if he defended the rim at an elite level.

Who's watching the Cats? It's halftime and they're down 2 to Buffalo.

If Sean Miller wasn't waiting to be fired before this game, he should be now.

I'm not watching the game but there seems to be a lot of talk about Ayton's bad defense costing them. How accurate is that?
Re: NCAA Thread 2017-18
I’m warming to the idea of Doncic at #1.
It would be awesome to be in the position of debating Ayton vs. Doncic, wouldn’t it?

Wow. What an embarrassing loss.
Re: NCAA Thread 2017-18
Ayton is perplexing sometimes, but the Arizona guards did him no favor on offense.

One of my UA buddies doesn't think Sean Miller will lose his job.
UA is an elite national program, Miller is not an elite game coach.
5, about to be 6, NBA lottery players in 9 years without a Final Four appearance is disappointing.
A smoky recruiting situation that could develop into an inferno.
What am I missing here? Cut bait and move on. That Dan Hurley guy looked pretty good coaching Buffalo.

I think he’s gone. Their recruiting class incoming blows too now they lost everyone. Good time to cut bait and start over
Re: NCAA Thread 2017-18
Sean Miller is a garbage coach. He should have been fired last year.
Re: NCAA Thread 2017-18
The PAC-12 is becoming a pretty awful basketball conference. 0-3 in the tournament with two of those losses being play in games. All pac-12 teams are out. Arizona wont be very good next year. Will they have any good teams? Oregon has an impressive recruiting class. Maybe UCLA is decent?

Re: NCAA Thread 2017-18
This year was weird for the Ducks. I tend to blame Elijah Brown (son of Mike Brown) becuase his only attribute was consistently overrating his own ability. Sometimes it worked out, but most of the time he was a black hole. I also expected more out of Peyton Pritchard after getting a ton of big game experience last year. I thought he had a shot at getting drafted someday, but not so much anymore. He's really got to improve next year if he doesn't want to get moved to the bench. Troy Brown has NBA talent and size, I think he just deferred too much this year. He needs to be the alpha dog in the same mold as Dillon Brooks. Kenny Wooten (avi) is gonna be really good eventually. I hope it's next year.
They're keeping the core of this years roster (assuming no one transfers out) and adding some high level talent including Bol Bol. Oregon will be fine next year. I'd bet anything they're in the tournament if their roster stays healthy.

Ya oregon is probably the favorite next year, although Troy Brown should be going to the nba, right?

I think Bol Bol is going to be a huge disappointment.

But a fun disappointment, if he has anything of his father in him.specialsauce wrote:I think Bol Bol is going to be a huge disappointment.

I agree I’m excited to see him play, I just don’t expect him to be able to hold up against bigger players.Cap wrote:But a fun disappointment, if he has anything of his father in him.specialsauce wrote:I think Bol Bol is going to be a huge disappointment.
