Got this sent to my email today from the Suns. Are they planning on trading Jackson?
I think having negative VORP disqualifies you from being on posters.
;) I think it's because it is for an open house. They want to show off the new guys plus face of the franchise, Booker.
So it’s Okobo, King, and Holmes that they’re planning on trading?

Obviously. Might make for a busy poster though.

I hope for Orlando's sake that Booker doesn't see this:

It's missing SAS, which would be 39.

I think Booker was taking it easy on Orlando, as he has known the owners since he was young ;)

I doubt they told Mike James he was the problem.

Now, I wouldn't be surprised if they told him he wasn't the answer.

What was the circumstances around waiving James? Was it just that Canaan outplayed him? Did we need his roster spot for someone?

James played hero ball. So he looked great in summer league when his shot was falling but when it stopped falling it really stood out how bad the shots he was taking were. In his mind he was still in Europe where he was the best player and wanted to go one on five and chuck up poor shots. Not a distributor. Had a couple of good games where he looked great and many where he looked like trash. From memory Canaan show something in terms of actual pg skills - dribble penetration and passing. So I believe it was so they could sign Canaan for the rest of the season. But I could be wrong, it could have purely been because James played like crap after a while and his style was not going to help get the young players involved.

I think it was to sign Canaan, now that you mention it. We had just waived Jones Jr to sign James for the rest of the year, then Canaan was better... He didn't shoot better, but he moved the ball and played defense.

They signed Canaan on December 13 (after being granted an exemption by the league when they had 4 injured players) and then waived James on December 23.

I don't think anybody here misses Mike James. If there's one thing I have learned from the past few years of Suns ball, it's that there is an endless pile of mediocre guards trying to make NBA rosters, and if you want a PG or SG who doesn't actually help you but sometimes looks good in short stretches, you can easily find one, or replace one with another.

That makes sense, then when Booker came back, we had to cut somebody?

Good point. Lots of Mike James in the world. I think Shaq Harrison at least has potential to be more. Hi is defense is pretty special.

Yes, Booker was activated for the December 23rd game (but didn't play).

Then where did we get all these guys from?
Jones and Vogel out, Lue or Lee in, draft Grant Nelson or Tyler Kolek.
