Ya, Tyus would most likely be better this year than Melton or Okobo, but I like the potential of those guys more. Trading for Tyus would probably cost a decent amount and we'd have to make a significant commitment to him as he's a free agent after this year. A 1 year stop gap type pg makes more sense, but Tyus is interesting.

Could we field a back or front court of King Arthur?

The combo is about their only relevance... I think we should lose Daniels too.
Arthur and maybe even Daniels are trade bait for anyone who wants an expiring contract. So far, nobody does.

If the Suns get away with only giving up a 2nd round pick for Beverly, I will be shocked.

If Beverly get's added, can we bring back the old, "We've added a little Rocket fuel!" marketing campaign too? I kid, I kid...

I think he'd be a great pickup if healthy. Hope it happens.

INF, what do you think about Tyus Jones? What would you give up to get him, if anything?

Suns interested in Tyus Jones?

https://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/2 ... Tyus-Jones
Tyus Jones ranks No. 2 overall among all point guards on the defensive end, per ESPN’s Defensive Real Plus-Minus.
http://www.espn.com/nba/statistics/rpm/ ... position/1

I would love it if we got this guy!

Karl-Anthony Towns, Jimmy Butler and Andrew Wiggins all averaged more points per 36 minutes when Jones was on the court compared to when he was not on the floor.

Minnesota outscored opponents by 13.8 points per 100 possessions when he was on the court with Butler. They also outscored opponents by 10.1 per 100 possessions in the time he shared the floor with Towns.

Sounds like Butler and Jones should both be on the trading block. Can't have that kind of performance.

Apparently, coach Kokoskov spent some time at Hakeem Olajuwon's ranch to pick his brain on how to utilize Ayton. Maybe Ayton himself can get some one-on-one time with Hakeem at some point.

Why would Minnesota want to get rid of Tyus Jones if he's so great? Also, I just looked up his stats and he averages 5.1 ppg and 2.8 apg. Why didn't he get more minutes?

Cuz Thibs is dumb and wants to play Derrick Rose. In fairness, Tyus has put up these numbers in very limited minutes against what I'm assuming is mostly opposing teams backups as well. Still, he did start a few games last year and was productive in those. I don't think Minny is just gonna give him away for Daniels and a 2nd.

ayton should seek out patrick ewing. they have similar body types and offense. but he also needs to play defense like ewing.

I like him and think he would easily be our starter. But I generally have a problem with giving up anything of value for a point guard now when we can get our guy next offseason with our cap space.

I understand this attitude if you aren't trying to win, don't expect to win and are already looking for next season. I think either way you should have money for next year and fill holes or find difference makers.

I think no matter what, the Suns are not playoff team this year. So to have this all-in mentality for 2018-19 seems short-sighted at best.

A losing culture is bad and leads to bad habits.

I’d much rather surrender a few second round picks and a trash prospect for a player like Tyus Jones or pat Beverly who may not get us to the playoffs but will help us at least be respectable.

The alternative is hanging on to second round picks that will almost certainly become nothing and to get a slightly better draft pick. No thanks. I’m more interested in Aytons development than whatever bit player we end up netting from that trash

Fair. I agree I would also not trade a first round pick for any of these targets unless it’s heavily protected.
