I must say that I'm not shocked by the result of this play considering who the recipient of the pass was.

He also had 11 points/4 boards/1 steal/1 block on 4/4 shooting. But then again he also had 5 turnovers and 5 fouls. And he was also a +20 in his 17 minutes on the court. Second only to Chris Paul's +21. And it was also preseason and didn't mean much at all.

Does this apply for Ayton's game yesterday as well? Or we are going to be selective about using this?

That’s Chriss in a nut shell. Having elite guards around him will be the only thing that saves him.

Regarding the fouls, I watched a chunk of that game and the officials were on a power trip for most of the game.

I look at it in the perspective of how much the other teams rotational players played. Tells you what level of competition he was up against and if it was an accurate reflection of the regular season

I know a lot of people have had enough with waiting for Bender, but I think he'll continue to be streaky for better or worse. It sounded like he played really well during the scrimmage, so I'm holding out hope that Igor and his staff can develop him more than the previous coaches.

All the Suns can do is be patient because he has a reasonable team option for next year and his trade value is in the tank.

Ya it applies to Ayton too. It was nice to see what he's capable of, but it doesn't matter until he does it in the regular season.

I don't think we need to be in a rush to dump Bender. Like you said, he's on a reasonable deal, but I'm not giving him playing time unless he deserves it. And I wouldn't be upset if we moved him.

Suns have to make a decision in less than 3 weeks on whether they want to pick up his option for next season or not.

Andre Drummond had 31/16 tonight, but mostly I'm curious about his 0/3 from 3....is he trying to shoot 3's now?

"Played well"

He didn't hit a basket.

No more "playing well" with a 0-0-0-0 stat line. He's not a rookie anymore.

Last year, I was firmly on the "he's young, let's the wait and see" train with Bender. I have officially seen enough. Dude doesn't have it. We have seen no meaningful progress over the last year. He is not even close to being an NBA player at this point and I have lost hope that he has what it takes to improve.

Here's a fun article on nba.com about various statistical milestones that players could reach this coming season.

Same here. He really hasn't done anything to earn time on the court. He's got potential, but hasn't made any progress in realizing it.

That's a simple answer.

Kyrie verbally committed to Boston long-term. If we want Beverly, Rozier, McConnell I just don’t see how we couldn’t pry one of them by the deadline. I would happily trade Warren + Bender for Rozier or Bender + Chandler + protected first rounder and pay him $15 mill per year.

I think Rozier is currently overrated. I need to see him be more consistent and develop his game more to be ok with giving him $15M/year.

We already went down this road once with Bledsoe, and so many people are chomping at the bit to do it again. I dont get it.
Jones and Vogel gotta go.

Not an entirely accurate comparison.

Bledsoe per 36 has never averaged less than 3.2 turnovers per game.

Rozier averaged 1.4 last year and 1.1 in the playoffs with 5.6 assists. He shot 38% from 3 last year which is a better percentage than Bledsoe has his whole career. And we all saw how good his defense and energy level was in the playoffs.

So you're willing to pay Jeff Teague $19 mill, but not a young up-and-comer with better stats $15 mill who is 25 but has already proven he has the balls and smarts to succeed in the playoffs?

He is exactly what the Suns need out of the PG position. A smart young player who takes care of the ball, can play defense, hustles, and can shoot the 3 ball.
