Gotta say it was fun reading through all the panic and angst after the draft knowing how wrong you all were.

I LOVE Mikal Bridges. He’s this generation’s Dan Majerle. Built his game on defense and dunking then added the shot. He’s an intense competitor and great team mate. He’s going to be good on day 1, and will create space for Ayton, Booker, and Jackson to attack the basket. Love him. You can’t have too many guys who shoot, defend, dunk, and play with so much competitive emotion. He’s going to rub off on other players, and you might even see Bender or Chriss hustle a bit. Alright, I’m getting carried away.

That Miami pick stings, but we have to start winning or nothing has value.

I was pleased with Okobo, but only because I know a bunch of you like him. I don’t know anything about him except what I read here, so I have some homework to do.

I was surprised that we passed on khyri Thomas. Some folks here were considering him at 16, and he seems to add the shooting and defense we need.

I love Khyri, but he's not a PG, if SGA had been the pick we traded up for I'd have been all for Khyri at 31

Well, I went to sleep with 2 picks in the bag, loved the trade for Bridges along with the Ayton pick and then they added Okobo who I think will be a real gem from that late in the draft.
Overall for me it is an A. Would have been an A+ if we’d have managed to keep hold of the Miami pick, but assests are only valuable if you use them to your advantage. Even if Miami suck we can’t live our lives hoping other teams suck for us to be successful.

Solid draft. Not perfect but solid. I am not as high on Bridges as some. A lot are. So that's OK. I am looking forward to seeing what he can do. I hope has not pissed we are taking him away from his mom. That's the kind of dick move the Suns pull.
What??? Why the Suns the dicks? Philly the ones who traded him. Suns supposed to say no because Mikal might be sad after?
In that situation it would be easy for him to be mad at the Suns before the Sixers. In his interview he seemed he was trying to cover up his disappointment about it. It's just an awkward position to be in and as a 21 year old I wouldn't expect him to not have emotions about it. With that being said I expect the Suns to make the moves to improve the team, including this. It just was not the ideal way to start the relationship.

I posted y'day that I just hope it is more good vibes on here than bad when the dust settles and that media not mocking us so I'm happy with how things went. Part of me started hoping for Porter Jr when he was free falling but I already seen stuff this morning that it is possible he sits out this year

Anyway count me in as one also laughing after the fact because I chose to stay off Twitter and here last night cuz I knew it would be an emotional rollercoaster lol. The comments leading up to our #16 pick   smh lol.
Now I know who's in purple n orange I can look to watch all sorts of footage :)

MPJ's health seems to be a legit concern, he may need future back surgery. Did we ever get him in or look at his medicals?

He worked out in Chicago and they shared his medicals with everyone, but we never brought him in personally. I think we attended a workout of his though.

Let's hope our new coaching staff is better at developing young talent than our last one was.

Ages on draft night -

Ayton - 19
Bender - 20
Okobo - 20
Chriss - 20
Jackson - 21
Booker - 21
Bridges - 21
Ulis - 22
Peters - 23
Reed - 23
Harrison - 24
Payton [RFA] - 24
Warren - 24
House - 25
Len [UFA] - 25
Williams - 25
Daniels - 26
Knight - 26
Canaan [UFA] - 27
Dudley - 32
Chandler - 35

I would love to see them add a veteran point guard and unload Dudley. I suspect they'll re-sign Canaan and invite him to training camp.

I would also prefer keeping Len over Chandler, but that ship has sailed.

As of today their rotation is probably -

C - Ayton/Chandler
F - Warren/Bender/Chriss/Bridges
G - Booker/Knight/Jackson/Daniels

Agreed! Also, important to note, Bender is still the 2nd youngest player on the team. Ayton is the only guy we've drafted in the last two years younger than Bender.

Totally forgot about him when I was looking at a list of players who appeared in games last year.

Hopped into my time machine and viola - there he is now.

Thing about Knight is what role he plays. He didn't want to be here coming off the bench. He was a good soldier 2 years ago but wasn't going into last season behind Bledsoe. Now we have a choice to make on Payton, drafted what looks to be a solid young guard who should see some time. I like what Payton brings all around but he doesn't seem like the answer because of his defense and shooting. So we have two borderline starting PGs we have to decide what to do with.

Then he cancelled his second workout because his hip was bothering him. Denver threw a hail-mary with that pick.

I added King, who's 24.

I'd like to note that that list is 22 players long. 5 have to go, and probably more than that to make room for free agents/trade acquisitions.

Gone:
Len
Payton
Reed
King
Canaan
Warren
Chriss
Dudley

From our g-league talent last season, I think we hold on to Harrison, Peters, and Ulis, with Peters being the most likely to be dropped.
