Thing about Knight is what role he plays. He didn't want to be here coming off the bench. He was a good soldier 2 years ago but wasn't going into last season behind Bledsoe. Now we have a choice to make on Payton, drafted what looks to be a solid young guard who should see some time. I like what Payton brings all around but he doesn't seem like the answer because of his defense and shooting. So we have two borderline starting PGs we have to decide what to do with.
Start them both and trade for another one!

I'm really eager to see how we handle those 2 guys this summer.

MPJ's health seems to be a legit concern, he may need future back surgery. Did we ever get him in or look at his medicals?
He worked out in Chicago and they shared his medicals with everyone, but we never brought him in personally. I think we attended a workout of his though.
Then he cancelled his second workout because his hip was bothering him. Denver threw a hail-mary with that pick.
I'm guessing that he's out for the year. Then the question is whether he can have a productive career after that.

Any news about when an introductory press conference might happen?

Ages on draft night -

Ayton - 19
Bender - 20
Okobo - 20
Chriss - 20
Jackson - 21
Booker - 21
Bridges - 21
Ulis - 22
Peters - 23
Reed - 23
King - 24
Harrison - 24
Payton [RFA] - 24
Warren - 24
House - 25
Len [UFA] - 25
Williams - 25
Daniels - 26
Knight - 26
Canaan [UFA] - 27
Dudley - 32
Chandler - 35
I'd like to note that that list is 22 players long. 5 have to go, and probably more than that to make room for free agents/trade acquisitions.

Gone:
Len
Payton
Reed
King
Canaan
Warren
Chriss
Dudley

From our g-league talent last season, I think we hold on to Harrison, Peters, and Ulis, with Peters being the most likely to be dropped.
The number of players that need to be dropped from the roster is crazy.

Yea I been just thinking about if/what possible FA moves might be made but when you see it presented like this it is a reminder that quite a few transactions still need to happen after last night

I could see us getting rid of the bare minimum and adding 1 veteran and calling it a day.

Len
Ulis
Reed
Chriss
Payton
Canaan

Gone with Peters and King on 2 way deals. Sign a veteran (Ariza? Tyreke?) and you’re at 15 with 2 others on 2 ways.

McDonough on D&W. Worth a listen. I think he remains unconvinced about Knight. Skeptical may be the word.

Skeptical is the highest bar he should be at with Knight.

I feel like we're not counting on anything from him (and I expect our actions in free agency/trades will back that up) but I think we'll give him a chance. Can't see any scenario where we stretch and waive him...unless LeBron or PG-13 tell is they want to come and we need to clear space.

I was pleased with Okobo, but only because I know a bunch of you like him. I don’t know anything about him except what I read here, so I have some homework to do.
Did you watch that video I posted, Chris? Let me know what you think.
I watched it and some other videos over breakfast this morning. The kid is a lot more explosive and creative than I expected. Normally, you've got to have one thing that you're really good at to stick in the league, and it looks like Okobo can really shoot. I'm excited to see him in summer league.

Interesting stuff from the press conference:

Ayton and Bridges are buddies. It's not just a media story, they really are bros.

Igor was askeed about the value of big men in today's nba, and he raved about Ayton as a defender.

Apparently Sean Miller is going to be invited to training camp.

Wish someone would have asked Mikal a question..he told us about finding out he got traded and that's about it. Would have loved to hear some comments on what he could bring to the team as both a player and a winner.

He's probably a little out of shape, but hey, we need a PG.

I'm just now getting around to seeing what Dallas paid for moving up to get Doncic. Now... in a vacuum, you might say that it was a heavy price to move up 2 spots, but I don't think it was nearly enough. If evaluating strictly by tiers you get possibly the best player in the draft and all you had to give up for the privilege was a protected pick. I think Dallas makes a hard push for Capela and runs out a lineup of DSJ-Matthews-Luka-Barnes-Capela. That team is not that bad. That pick could be bottom of the lottery range.

Yeah Capela makes a lot of sense for Dallas. Even if Houston matches they force them to pay.

I think Sexxxton has a chance to be a pretty good role player but with Lebron most likely leaving, why swing for the fences and go MPJ??
Sorry for replying to old stuff for last night but from what I hear LeBron is either staying or going to the Lakers and it's 50/50 at this point.
