I bet they give Bender as many minutes as possible during summer league. Sink or swim time.
I agree with that approach.
I think asking Bender to create off the dribble just isn't going to end up working. He isn't comfortable doing it and doesn't do it well. He is much better catching it near the free throw line and finding the open man coming from off ball screens. I think it is a mistake to push him to create off the dribble. They should just try to focus him in on defense, rebounding, and hitting the open three. Rebounding is really important for him this season.

It is like what they did to Len. Stop trying to make him a star and just focus in on his strengths.
And blocking shots!

Josh Jackson looks great.
Again, he's feeling it tonight.
It was a tale of two halves for him tonight. Not very good in the first and excellent in the 2nd.

9 pages for a summer league game?? NICE! 8-)
When was the last time the Suns were up on a team by 21 points in the 4th quarter?
The last time we played the Mavs. Also happens to be the last time we played.
We've got momentum, baby!

King outplayed Antetokounmpo, so TAKE THAT.
I was going to say, for all our fawning over the top 3 picks, King was solid in his minutes. I love that he challenged that dunk.

Check out the box score from that game. Bender, Shaq, and Peters kicked some major Mavs butt. The victims started Aaron Harrison, Kyle Collinsworth, Dorian Finley-Smith, Johnathan Motley, and Dwight Powell, with Jalen Jones playing big minutes off the bench. This summer league game was largely a rematch.

He wasn’t my top choice, but it’s such a relief to see a competent and aggressive big man out there.

Bridges is the stud I expected him to be. Joe Johnson 2.0.

Okobo could be the steal of the draft in 2-3 years. I love how he handled himself in the PnR.

McD just might’ve saved his job with this draft.

I like how Ayton didn't force anything and he showed us a little bit of everything. Alley oops, a catch and shoot, rebounds, a block, and passing out of a double team.

Ayton only had one block, but he altered a ton of shots out there. Also, him looking winded at times may have been due to the back soreness that he’s been dealing with.

He seemed out of game shape which is understandable since his last game was in what, February or early March?

Guys at the game were tweeting that Ayton asked to come out of the game repeatedly and that it seemed like it was because of fatigue.

Reed looked good today but did you guys notice his shot selection? He took and made so many contested jumpers.

He seems like the kind of guy (like an Archie Goodwin or Josh Selby) who is an SL breakout star and that’s about it.

Okobo on the other hand was scoring by creating separation. Same with Shaq.

Yeah I noticed after his big dunk that he raised his hand to come out of the game. I was worried that maybe he hurt something.

I was really encouraged by Okobo and his fearlessness. I'm looking forward to watching how he progresses this season. I might need to get a Bridges and Okobo jersey.

I don't blame them, I read somewhere that their biggest player was 6'10.

I was surprised by this comment cause I didn't feel that way watching the game. was hoping someone would show him some love on YouTube though so I could look back at it....

and here's Mikal

for me the majority of the shots from both of them were good looks. in the NBA you hardly get wide open jumpers, once a shooter is balanced and has clear sight of the rim for me I don't think those defenders closing out really affected either of them. if they were fading back on the shots I would more take issue with the shot selection, just my take 8-)

I said it during the game and happy to actually watch it over properly....
we ran a nice inbound play and that is still one of my favourite highlights of the game from a Igor perspective :)
