He's playing very well lately; good for him. I still can't watch him in an interview without cringing. He's talking about how he's "wearing a cape" and how they've "unlocked" him. Bleh.

I rarely think about Ayton anymore, and I never regret that the Suns traded him. I do not care that he is doing well over the last 3 games, but I'm happy for him and hope he turns it around. My son sent me this last night.

This isn’t the first time he’s strung together a few good games and looked like he might be turning the corner. Maybe this time is different, but I wouldn’t bet the farm.

I'd think the safest bet is him laying an egg lol... he is, of all things.. Consistently inconsistent.

Hey, at least he admitted to his performance being "irregular". At least I think that's what he sang at the beginning of the interview. First time I ever heard him admit to any issues. And good thing these haters spur him on. Otherwise, he'd be mid all the time. And who are these "haters", by the way?

We wish. I stopped watching. This type of play is what always used to give me hope only to be knocked down again later. Glad I'm not going through that any more with Ayton. Nurk has been solid and pretty consistent.

Since you all won’t stop bringing this thread back…

It seems that a 30/20 game for DA is like 7 threes for Booker—he can get right up to the edge but never cross it. Just one rebound shy in two of his last three games.

Btw, it’s not just his last three games that he’s been playing well.

In his last 16 games, Ayton is averaging:

20/12/2/1/1 on 63.2 FG% and 94.7 FT% in 33.5 mpg.

I’m old enough to remember: “He can’t keep that high FG% without CP3!”

EDIT: In fact, just 25 days ago:

Without Chris Paul (one of the best all-time PGs) feeding him, Ayton is pretty run-of-the-mill.

Did you bet? He had 20 and 12. What's the requirement to win?
I did bet a small amount on 18 & 12 (+750 or 7.5x return), which was nice. But the bet I was talking about was 18/15/1 steal/1 block—it was a +10000 bet (100x return) earlier in the week before he accomplished it (I believe he had that specific line only twice last season). In other words, a 10,000% return on your money—if someone had bet $10,000 on it, they would have $1 million.
Or -$10,000 most nights. :P
True but if he does it twice a season it’s still a good bet. It only took him 28 games, so if you’re Charles Barkley and can afford to bet $280,000 to win $1 million it would have been a good deal. :P
I did think about that. Assuming the same bet is available every game. Maybe you could pitch it to Charles. :D
Ok, this is getting really crazy now. Remember he only had 18/15/1/1 twice last season. But now that he’s “regressed” this season, he’s done it:

1. 1/24—after 28 games.

2. 2/10—after 7 games.

3. 2/25—after 4 games.

4. 3/9—after 2 games.

5. 3/13—after 2 games.

Well I haven’t checked the odds lately but I’m sure they’ve been getting lower each time he does it.

This is his usual post all star break streak when his supplier runs out of that good shit so he has a run of games with good stats because he's not blazing around the clock

Now that his team has been completely eliminated from playoff contention and the games don't matter, he can play loose again.

We should all just agree that we were all right about Ayton. It was the right move for the suns to move on as Nurkic has been good for us…and it was also true that Ayton would not reach his ceiling here as an offensive player. I’m glad he’s been performing well lately. I’m not sure I’d ever trust his consistency, but no question he’s a good player when he’s locked in and he’s locked in right now. It did take Portland long enough to figure it out though and that means I’ll win the bet with Jeremy 😁

Ayton’s 30+ points in three of the last four games all had one thing in common: Jerami Grant was out.

As a DA fan (and a bet on the line), I’m still pissed that Portland didn’t trade JG.

Yes, you can call me a JeramiG hater. ;)

Somebody's gonna look like a fool when Deandre Ayton dives back into his weed/2k slumber which is inevitable
