If we get a talented passing PG, suddenly Ayton is going to look like a real beast. Nobody threw the guy any passes all year, and he was left to figure out his own offense for himself. He played okay under those circumstances, but he can be so much more. Get the PG, and you unlock Ayton for free.
Nah. You can't put it all on the PG situation. He takes some blame as well. There were many times he did get the ball in the post but he'd immediately pass back out.
Thank you.

It kills me that you get #1 pick in one of the better drafts in years, and we're talking about needing to add another player to get any kind of real impact from that pick.

We should have drafted Doncic.

Prediction: Ayton will end up with a better career than Doncic.

It's not even about Doncic. It's about all the generational talent talk, walking around in a Suns jersey before even picked, the empty promises about turning it on and dominating, Ryan's asinine 1-on-none draft workout praise, the talking heads insisting it just had to be Ayton, blah blah blah.

Difference between Jordan and Olajuwon, we hope.

And honestly, as much as I was/am a Doncic guy, I think Jaren Jackson Jr. is probably my favorite player from that draft.

A bit early to judge, dont you think?

Way too early. Let’s revisit in 5 years.

What judgment? I'm just talking about things that bothered me in year one compared to what actually happened on the court.

He seldom made an impact when out on the court this year. He has the tools but needs to figure out how to put it all together.

Exactly. Nobody said "bust" or anything like it. These are all just things that have already happened.

I am happy with the Ayton pick even though I wanted Doncic too. He obviously has skills, size and strength. He will be an All Star along with Booker if they ever start winning. His aggression knob is set at 50% most of the time. I remember a couple of games where he got angry and did sort of dominate. Am not worried about Ayton as long as he stays healthy.

Agreed. But it probably won't be with the Suns.

Sorry I know this post is a couple weeks old but I'm just catching up on things after all the firings. I'm just so disgusted with the Suns. I haven't followed them closely the last few years because they just sucked so bad. I have felt like a fair weather fan, only paying attention when they did good. But they aren't and I don't see that changing. Sarver has ruined this team and it will never change as long as he owns it. Phoenix used to be a desired location and proud franchise and players would take less money to come here. Now they won't come no matter how much you pay them. The Suns have become the league's joke. They are worse that the Clippers used to be. From what I have seen they even fired the training staff. Didn't we used to have the most elite training staff in the league? I'm so sad.

Ayton is the first Suns player to average 16 points and 10 rebounds since Shawn Marion in 2005-06, and the first Suns player to average a double-double since Nash and Gortat both did so in 2011-12.

What's wrong with having Jackson do it again? He went and the Suns won the lottery, seems like you ride that horse.

probably because who is in attendance won't affect the outcome, and Josh was a complete disaster for the 2nd year in a row and if you can get your only #1 draft pick in your 50 year history to do it, you do it.
