Game Day (Summer League): 76ers (0-3) @ Suns (3-0), Thurs 7/12/18

Post by Superbone »

Time: 3:30 pm AZ (3:30 pm PT / 6:30 pm ET)
Place: Thomas & Mack Center, Las Vegas, NV
TV: ESPN 2

Our first playoff game against the winless 76ers. Will Zhaire Smith be out for revenge? Will Furkan Korkmaz go off on us? Or will Deandre Ayton dominate this hapless SL team? Let's not take them lightly. Finish them!

Go Summer Suns!!!

Dang it. My son has a lesson at 7:30 so I'll miss most of the 2nd half. Especially if they get the same late start they've been getting.
Go Suns!

Bold prediction--Bender scores in double digits (If he plays).

I will be recording the game and watching it on my 75" TV from the comfort of my home. Probably with some popcorn. 8-)

Not so bold since he did that last game.

I will have to watch this one on DVR delay late tonight because I'm going to a U of Washington CompSci meetup event tonight. (I used to teach there.) Hope Ayton has another strong game. I also hope Bender can show us that last game wasn't a fluke. I am really hopeful for him.

I thought it was unlikely because teams frequently pull starters during the summer league playoffs--also Bender can struggle to put together 2 good games in a row, so I was hoping he would buck that trend.

I am interested to see who plays not only for us but the other teams as the tournament wraps up. It would be cool to win but I feel like I've been seeing quite a bit of players getting shutdown

Josh Jackson is out today. Good. 1 - he's sucked. 2 - we need to give more minutes and touches to Bridges.

Offensively inefficient? Forced things? Yes. Sucked? No. He still did all the other things including some monster blocks.

He sucked. Call it like it is. He looked awful offensively. Forced shots, bad turnovers, ball stopper.

He played well defensively but you expect much more out of him this year

I think he was a net negative. The D was good, though.

If the Suns win today, we will face the winner of Spurs and Bucks at Thomas & Mack Center at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. I might scout that game too: 5:00 on NBA TV.

It’s Summer League. Look at the competition he’s gone up against . He’s by far the most experienced player out there. He should be dominant on both ends of the ball. At the very least it’s fair to expect him to not look totally lost on offense.

Bone, you’re being a homer.
