This will be the Bender game. He'll put up 20/8/5 and we'll all get excited and then he'll pull out a 0-0-0-0-0 game to start the regular season.
Maybe it's the Alec Peters game
Looking that way so far....

Good, I said this in the other thread as well but right decision here.

Ayton with a horrible stat line tonight. Just pathetic.

And yet he has an even 0 for his +/-.

Cooley really making the case for a spot on an NBA roster.

I thought I saw the ghost of Mark Olberding running around out there ...

I think that's a stretch, but he has played pretty well.

Wow, way fewer posts for this game. Maybe because of Ayton's absence. To be fair, I missed this one, partly because of daddy duties (and doodies). For those interested, here's a box score:

We blew them out. Harrison and Peters had the most impressive stat lines. Cooley also played well. Harrison fills up a summer league stat sheet (tonight: 13 pts, 6 reb, 7 ast, 1 steal, 3(!) blocks).

Each one of these games makes me mad that we signed Trevor Ariza. There are lots of interesting guys on this summer league team. Why do we want to give a 34-year-old washed up SF a bunch of minutes over signing/keeping Reed, Peters, or whomever?

Maybe because we don't want to be #1 in the lottery again next year.

Bridges left the game with an injury (knee contusion).

The game was pretty bad. I don't think we played that well so much as the Spurs were awful. I think they scored like 20 points in the 1st half. But we know what Harrison is. Cooley is a summer league legend who's fun to root for. I wish Bender would've gotten more minutes and was featured more all around, if anything to get him some quality touches and maybe some more confidence. I'm still a big fan of Reed. But there's not a lot else. Bridges isn't an exciting/electric player I'm going to tune in for specifically.
