Honestly, I'd play Holmes over Bender and Chriss right now. He's just a better player than either of them in my opinion and can definitely play the PF position.
Bender and Chriss have just been put on notice.

I'm really happy to hear that. They both earned it from their SL play. I think we're going to have a solid and pretty deep team this year.

Holmes is a very good shot blocker per 36, and also distributes well for a big. Not really a scorer or shooter, and that hurts his offensive numbers.
What don’t you like about his offensive numbers? Per 36 last season: 15p, 3a, .560 fg, 121 ORtg.

(For his career: 15.8p, 2.1a, .547 fg, 117 ORtg.)

I like the moves made to get Holmes. He was an under the radar guy who played at a small D1 college in Ohio. Kind of kept an eye on him because I have friends that went to that school and couldn't believe a player from there was drafted. He's steadily improved in his short time in the league. I think his shot is decent. I'm skeptical that he should be playing center due to his lack of size.

My friend was a Director of Operations at BGSU during his time there. Said he came from a JUCO school. Came to BGSU because of his faith and the coach there was a religious man (coach ended up getting fired for slapping a girl's ass at a bar however). But she said Holmes is a nice guy. Has a kid with his wife that he met in college. Says dude loves working out and she hopes he gets a better chance in PHX.I realize this is irrelevant to most but I'm always interested in the character of the athletes I am rooting for. So no stories of hookers on the road for Mr. Holmes.

About the only recommendation I would have is eliminating the 3's unless he's improved his shot.

Otherwise you're happy to take those numbers from a backup center.

Very nice move(s). Holmes will be exciting in his minutes, and keep opponents working while Ayton is off the court. It's going to be nice to see fewer g-league players on our roster.

Deep yes, but they are all low- end talent. As in rotation guys 8-15 should all be 15th roster spot guys, not second or third off the bench.

Ayton
Bridges
Jackson
Warren
Ariza

Can't argue with this too much, though I think I would include Okobo in that upper tier. I think he showed just as much potential as Bridges did in the SL, and during his French playing days.

Lol, I love that Bender and Chriss didn't even make it on the list.

Hey fellas, it is okay (preferred!) if you make a new thread when there's a trade. We're on page 90+ in this thread; an actual Suns transaction does merit its own thread.
Your wish is my command.
Thanks! Much better. :-)

I don't know what I think of the guy Holmes we acquired; seems like a decent defensive center, but I was really hoping we would hold on to Williams, so I have mixed feelings. Will read more about him before deciding. Getting Dudley's salary off the books seems great for future flexibility. Dudley is a good guy, but he didn't even pretend to try to stay in NBA game shape, so I don't mind seeing him go.

Apparently, he's lost 10 pounds but it is a contract year.

FOH here fat ass. Couldn't be happier to cut that dead weight from the end of the bench.

I think I said sometime back in the Spring that I'd like to replace Chriss with Holmes. He's a bit of a head case, but at least hasn't been routinely out of shape.

Oh, dear Superbone. I'm a bit concerned about his simplistic offensive move set. Our last coach probably would have botched integrating him, but our new coach should do better. From what I'm reading about Holmes, his offense is a bit elementary, my dear. Watson wouldn't have used him right, but I bet Kokoskov will!

How often have I said that when you have excluded the impossible whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.
