Pretty annoyed that we have to wait till Wed. to see them play. Thought the NBA had fixed their preseason crap to show each game on tv. We got every summer league game but we can't get all the preseason ones?

I understand not airing the scrimmage but no real excuse not to show the kings game.

I nailed it. Probable starting lineup in first preseason game.
This lineup is brought to you by the letter A.

Thanks for the updates, guys. Really exciting to see the Suns back on the court. And it's very encouraging to see Ayton playing well. Hurry back, Book.

The last line might have worked better if I’d dropped in an F-bomb or two.

The "mentoring" vets do is very overrated. All the basketball related stuff is taught by the coaches. I guess watching a player play defense could help Ayton but do we really want Ayton emulating Chandlers defense? :)

Off the court life is where I think mentoring could be useful but you don't need Chandler for that. Just a Vet that can teach him the ropes.

All that said I don't mind that Chandler is still with the team. He will be fine coming off the bench. Although I would rather have Len at 5 mill for 1 year than Chandler at 13 and a half.
I don't agree with you but I have to qualify that. Veterans that actually play and don't just sit on the bench are quite valuable mentors. Just to see how they put the work in and actually show the young guys how to play.
I also disagree with a little bit of qualification. I think the difference is respect. If Nash talks to a young guard today the youngster will still listen, but in the case of Chandler I don't think his track record commands that type of respect, his game is fading, and I just don't see him as having a leadership type personality. He won't lead the players astray, but I don't get the sense that he's a huge locker room influence in the positive sense. Same goes for Dudley. I have some hope that Ariza's focus on defense can rub off on the young guys, and I generally have a positive feeling for Anderson's locker room presence, but my only reason for that is the SI piece about his girlfriend's suicide.

I don't think the mentoring vet role is overrated. If we have a guy like Bo Outlaw today I think the team would be vastly different, but we don't have that kind of personality on the roster right now.
