The Bucks waived Tim Frazier btw. True PG, still young but a journeyman.
Easily better than any point guard we have.
Trendon Watford. Please and thank you.

fox wasnt an option because phoenix still had bledsoe, knight, ulis last year

suns should have picked markannen but didnt because of chriss and bender
Knight was injured and Ulis was Ulis. Fox was most definitely an option.
the 2017 nba draft happened on june 22, 2017.

knight tore his acl a month later on july 25, 2017

I stand corrected. I still feel like we all knew Bledsoe/Knight was not the answer for us at the time of that draft. Shel corroborates that as he was pushing for Fox over Jackson.

Translation: Crawford was better than most players on the worst team in the league last season.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

Right. I think most of us are lamenting the opportunity cost of signing him. He takes up a roster spot that we could have put to better use. Now if someone becomes available we'll have to waive Canaan.

Meh, this is about the nonsense of tossing around "advanced" stats without context.

We played 22 players last year. It's easy to be better than 10 of them. That still means we had 12 guys with better advanced stats.

PER: Attempts to represent scoring volume and efficiency. Monroe and Len were #1 and 2 on the suns at around 20. Crawford was at 13. We dumped 6 of the guys with better per than Crawford last season.

TS%: Attempts to measure scoring efficiency. Crawford at .519 is in the same range as Bender and Chriss. Best on our team were Jones and Chandler. We got rid of 7 guys with better TS%.

W/S per 48: Attempts to measure overall impact on the game, and nobody gets a lot of win shares on a team where there are not many wins to share. .099 is average, .2xx is allstar level. Crawford was at 0.37. Len and Jones were our top 2 at .177 and .154. We got rid of 7 guys with higher w/s per 48.

Even put together those stats don't really mean anything. Top players in all of those categories include Jones, Chandler, Len, and Monroe. Does that mean those were 4 of our best players?

All I take from this is that Crawford isn't an efficient scorer (we already knew that) and that he's unlikely to make a big difference on the stat sheet.

Another feather in McDonough's cap. I think this is the wrong move considering our roster, but there are always guys with Davon Reed's talent level available in the D-League. Danuel House is a better player, for example.

I would have cut Daniels, but I'm not losing sleep over this move. Truth is Reed hasn't shown anything outside of some good play in summer league. He wasn't going to get minutes in our deep wing rotation. Maybe no one picks him up and we can bring him back as our last 2-way guy.

I never really saw "it" from Reed. I don't think he is ready to be a productive NBA player. Hope he finds a role overseas or on a G-League team or something, but I won't miss him much.

Yep, he would tease us in the Summer and then let us down in the Winter. Some would say he's a fall guy but as I just showed, he wasn't.

It's been reported that we offered a 2nd round pick for TJ McConnell and the Sixers turned us down.
