Everyone in the league shows us the middle finger for asking a PG. Man, it is frustrating. We can not even get an effing McConnell.

Meh, I like TJ a lot, but we don't have to give up the farm for him. Get him as a UFA next summer. I think I would go as high as a heavily protected 1st-rounder that would more likely convert to 2 second-round picks.Democritus wrote: ↑Wed Oct 17, 2018 7:57 amEveryone in the league shows us the middle finger for asking a PG. His defense was worse than all 237* players who saw minutes with the Suns last year.
* I don't know how exactly many players we had play minutes for us, but given Crawford had the worst defensive RPM in the league last year it's a guarantee that they were all better on defense.
Re: Suns News: Week 1 10/17-10/21
I'd offer the MIL pick. That won't be worth much come year's end at this rate. Milwaukee should end up with a decent record this season. Suns don't need another pick in the 16-22 range. McConnell is more valuable than that IMObajanguy008 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 17, 2018 9:05 amwell seems that we actually have been on the phones and TJ, Dinwiddie are guys I would have been happy with but if everyone trying to fleece us it doesn't make sense at this point

False. No one on the Suns last year had an overall real plus minus worse than Jamal Crawford. Not one. Crawford's overall RPM was 516th out of 521.The Bobster wrote: ↑Tue Oct 16, 2018 7:34 amExactly. Are you seriously proposing to trade a first rounder, protected or not, for TJ McConnell? Am I reading this right?djy2j wrote: ↑Wed Oct 17, 2018 9:30 amI'd offer the MIL pick. Have you guys heard this? Gambo was reporting that McD was trying to trade up for SGA, but got overruled. Then the trade back up for Bridges happened. I am just guessing that it would have been for less than the Miami pick. If that were the case, it would have solved 3 problems right now.
1. Would have had a starting pg in SGA.
2. Wouldn't have a overabundance of small forwards.
3. Would still have the Miami pick. Maybe it would have only cost the 31 and/or Mil pick.
If he was let go by what some are saying because of no starting pg, then that doesn't seem like his fault and neither would having to find minutes for 4 small forwards.

‘This is the most fun I’ve ever had playing basketball’: Inside Deandre Ayton’s dazzling NBA debut

https://theathletic.com/598461/2018/10/ ... nba-debut/
The NBA’s No. 1 overall draft pick dazzled in his regular-season debut, compiling 18 points, 10 rebounds and six assists against Dallas to join Alvan Adams and Shawn Marion as the only rookies in franchise history to record a double-double in their first-career game. He witnessed a fourth-quarter shooting outburst from Devin Booker that left him “in shock.” He soaked in a roaring crowd that made the “floor (feel) like it was shaking” as the Suns finished off a 121-100 victory.
“This is the most fun I’ve ever had playing basketball,” Ayton said when asked what he will most remember about the day.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

Yes, McConnell is worth more than a second rounder. We have the habit of overvaluing mid to late first round picks here. I feel like where the Bucks finish this year in a terrible Eastern conference is going to devalue that pick as the season goes on. We have the worst owner in sports and a bad reputation overall when it comes to making deals. We're in a position where we are probably going to have to overpay for a PG.pickle wrote: ↑Wed Oct 17, 2018 4:01 pmAre you seriously proposing to trade a first rounder, protected or not, for TJ McConnell? I would trade that pick for him if we could then lock him up to a reasonable deal, like a 4 year 32 million dollar deal.djy2j wrote: ↑Thu Oct 18, 2018 12:47 pmYes, McConnell is worth more than a second rounder. I'm really hoping that the Blazers struggle out of the gates this year. Maybe after several years of trying this tandem of Mccollum and Lillard and getting nowhere, they'd consider blowing it up and we could snatch Dame Dolla. I would send out Jackson, Bender, our unprotected first, MIL first and pray they wouldn't laugh at our offer.
Re: Suns News: Week 1 10/17-10/21
My guy Jeff Teague had a nice game last night. Also, Memphis looked like crap, which I suspect they will this year and that may lead to them exploring dumping Conley.

Conley is on the wrong side of 30 and has two years left on his deal after this year. In two years he'll be making 34! million. HARD PASS. I would much rather have Teague at $19, TJ Mcconnell at a MLE type deal, Terry Rozier at 15-20, Dragic for the remainder of his deal or Dame Dolla/Kemba Walker for the same price as Conley.
