I'll try to keep track of roster cuts as they're being reported but I may not be able to stay glued to twitter all day. So far it looks like we're waiving Davon Reed. Still need two more moves.

Is Gary Payton II better than any of our 4 PGs?

I may have sold my condo on Bender Island but I don't see why you would waive him and keep both Canaan and Harrison.

The Davon Reed decision is interesting. I remember everyone thought it was a reach when he was picked with Jordan Bell and others on the board. It seemed like there was a lot of cognitive dissonance after the fact to justify the pick, but he did show some things in Summer league before his rookie season. I think the knee injury was pretty devastating as he wasn't someone particularly quick before the injury and he moved like my dad in his games last year.

Again - he showed promise in Summer League this year, but has looked out of place in preseason.

Ultimately, I think he's a better fit for the roster than Troy Daniels now that we have Crawford. I don't see the point of having both JC and TD. They both have the same deficiencies. At least Reed brings something different in theory.

I don't like this rushing (or letting him rush) back. Let him miss the first 2 games, and he'll have 7 more days from now to heal before the Warriors game.

Not sure Crawford can give us anything, but we really don't need Daniels now. I'd cut Arthur and Daniels for sure. Last one could be either Reed(Sounds like that's our plan) or Harrison. Both could be brought back on a 2 way deal. I'd also be fine trading Bender away. I wouldn't cut him outright, but a trade would be fine.

It will be very interesting if Bender gets cut before the season even starts, since we know that McDonough would not have done that for sure lol.

I don't really see a reason to cut him outright. I guess if we've decided we're declining his option and have no plans to include him in the rotation. There would also have to be zero interest in him. I'd think some team would be willing to send some kind of 2nd rounder with another expiring we could waive.

My sense of how this FO works is that they won't cut Bender this week because he's due $4+ million in guaranteed salary, and they'd rather cut a guy on a smaller or less guaranteed contract to save money. Sarver isn't as cheap as he used to be, but he's still cheap.

Cutting Bender now would be dumb. If we flat out waive him, there's no way he clears waivers before someone takes a flier on him. It's so short-sighted to cut a super young guy with at least some defensive potential and athleticism. It's clearly a mental thing with him. Give him at least the length of his contract to "get it" before giving up on him.

Dragan is over seven feet tall, mobile, can hit the three, can play good D in at least some matchups. There’s gotta be an NBA coach or three out there thinking, “I can make something of this guy.”

Arthur and Harrison were waived. One more move is coming. If Harrison doesn't get claimed, we might see him get the last two way deal.
