Booker + Ayton: 53 / 14 / 13
Booker still has it all on offense. Every SG in the league is going to take it to him until he gets serious about playing D.
Ayton had a huge impact on the game and played great team ball. He look a little surprised when he got in post up situations, maybe because the preseason didn't prepare him for that. He did a great job of screening for everyone all over the court, a great job of passing, a great job of defending with his body, and a great job of adjusting when he made mistakes.
JJ + TJ 6/8 on 3s, and Jackson with pretty good defense. They can't combine for 3 rebounds and expect to win very many games.
Ariza with great shooting, 7 assists, and he was very active defensively.
Igor relying heavily on Canaan. Okobo shows promise but isn't ready yet and the no-pg lineup didn't work.
It was nice to see more pick and roll and fewer dribble handoffs. We looked like we had a legit offense, and we made adjustments when we got stagnant. We aren't going to make 56% of our 3s every night, so we are going to have to defend better and someone besides Ayton is going to have to rebound.
Bender needs to watch this game, eat a steak, and decide to be better than Anderson.

I counted 3!JeremyG wrote: ↑Wed Oct 17, 2018 10:00 pm18/10/6/1/1 in 36 minutes for Ayton with ZERO turnovers. But it looked to me like he had at least 2 blocks!
At the first timeout in the game, Ayton was on pace for career NBA averages of 120 points per game and 60 rebounds per game.
When is the last time we (or any team) had 4 starters with 6, 7, 7, and 7 assists respectively?

Well Dave Pasch is the play-by-play voice of the AZ Cardinals so there may have been a little bit of homerism involved.Drewsprocket wrote: ↑Wed Oct 17, 2018 10:16 pmMan, how good did that feel to have commentators sing the Suns praises?

By the way, there wasn’t anybody who thought Booker shouldn’t play tonight, was there? Nah, didn’t think so.

Enjoyed his rip of Doncic and subsequent fast break basket at the other end.virtual9mm wrote: ↑Wed Oct 17, 2018 8:47 pmIf TJ Warren can hit 3's, he's an all-star. They look great! My expert opinion is that having your best player back makes your team better.
Ayton looks great out there overall. Ariza is playing really well.
And my guy, TJ FREAKING WARREN, hitting 3/3 from 3 point land! If he can hit corner 3s, look out. That'll make him incredibly valuable. So glad he's trying to add that to his game.
(Doncic also looks pretty great. Wish we could have somehow drafted both!)
Criminally underrated by Suns fans.

I realize it’s only game one, but I’ve been waiting a few years to say this:

Reading through the realgm thread and someone over there is calling Okobo "Mario Elie Okobo." Just reading that pisses me off.

Only at .net can you have a great game, better than any we've had in ages, and people are moaning about Josh Jackson and Canaan and just finding lots in general to complain about.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton
