If you want to go the Mormon route, you could take another name from New Orleans: the Saints. Or something like “Pioneers” to honor the state’s Mormon heritage without being explicitly religious.

They’d better change their name if they move to Seattle. “Seattle Suns” just doesn’t work.
It might be almost half as ridiculous as "Utah Jazz."
"Los Angeles Lakers"

Does Sarver even realize that basically every single Suns fan on the planet wants him to sell the team?
I mostly want Sarver to sell. But we need to be careful what we wish for. If nothing else, at least Sarver keeps the team in Phoenix. As a former Seattle resident, I can tell you that it is extremely scary every time your owner puts your team up for sale. It could get bought by some out-of-state businessman who swears he wants to keep the team local but then begins plans to undermine his relationship with the city and move the team away. They could be the San Diego Suns or Kansas City Suns or Seattle Suns or whatever, if things go the wrong way.
They’d better change their name if they move to Seattle. “Seattle Suns” just doesn’t work.
Works perfectly if they keep playing like they have the last few seasons. Rarely shining.

I think Embiid is taking this a little too far. He's getting into bullying behavior territory:

You shouldn't be calling a fellow NBA star a bum publicly. I sure hope he doesn't start this Markieff stuff with Ayton.

I have no problem with it. players talk shit all the time. just imagine the type of things MJ said about his opponents.

Apples and oranges. There was no social media in Jordan's day. BIG difference from saying something publicly versus privately.

I don't think screaming at a guy on the court is in private. Less people can read it, but everyone around the court including the media folks all hear it. And guys like Barkley would say it during national interviews.

Why exactly did we let Big Sauce go? Wouldn't he be a better backup center than Holmes, at a low price? And didn't he desperately want to play here and would have been loyal to our franchise if we'd kept him? I don't get it.

As for the Embiid stuff, yeah, I don't like when he goes negative on another player like that. I like players to show a little personality, but not to troll each other on social media. It's cyber-bullying basically. Then what'll happen is that a bunch of idiot fans will reply and pile on, so now Drummond has all of that garbage in his Twitter timeline. It quickly escalates. Not fun.

I wouldn't be surprised if there's some tension between Doncic and the Mavs veterans.

I've read rumors that DeAndre and Mathews are not keen on him and when they get a rebound they don't pass him the ball on purpose. We'll see if that's true, but if that was the case, those two absolutely are on their way out (both are expiring anyway).

Releasing him opened up 5 million in cap room. It was an obvious move. Love big sauce, but he wasn't worth 5 million.

Yes, but couldn't we have re-signed him after he cleared waivers?

For Trevor Ariza. Has that move brought us any joy?

Yes, we could have. Maybe he decided to go somewhere he thought he might get more of an opportunity

We're only 8 games into the season. Also the moves are independent. You can dislike the Ariza signing, but releasing Williams was absolutely the right move, regardless of what we did with the cap space. The only deal Williams found was a 2-way deal. Paying 5 million to a guy no other team even wants to give an NBA contract to is not smart.
