Post by Superbone »

Time: 7:00 pm AZ (7:00 pm PT/10:00 pm ET)
Place: Talking Stick Resort Arena, Phoenix, AZ
TV: FSAZ, NBALP

The Toronto Raptors come to town for our first meeting of the new season. The Raptors also went through a coaching change and major reconstruction this offseason. Their results have been a little different than ours.

Go Suns!!!

Heh. The first East team we face and it's a top2-3. The schedule nightmare keeps going.

I have a feeling that Kawhi will sit this one out. They have a back-to-back coming up on Sunday-Monday, so maybe they'll sit him against the Suns and play him in those next two games.

Speaking of down under, I'm spending a little time in Melbourne at the beginning of next year. Anyone around here live in those parts?

God, we have a game already!? Can we just pause for 3 or 4 days? I'm sick and tired of blowout losses.

It is bad enough for me being on East Coast time, but can't imagine having to follow the team from over seas. I lived in FL for a little bit during the SSOL days, and I would happily stay up to watch the late TNT games that would start around 10:50PM and still get to work at 7am. We were great. But doing this when we are so bad, it just hurts so much the next day. Could also be I am in my 40s now, and back then I was barely into my 30s... who knows.

In this Dickens twist, pun very much intended, Sir is Sarver and I represents phxsuns.net.

It is really draining to give 10-12 hours a week to a team that only ends up leading for about 12 minutes a week.

And makes a bunch of bad turnovers, let's defenders waltz to the hoop, and shows no passion. It makes me angry. I thought we had hit rock bottom last season. Nope. Turns out I was wrong.

It doesn't matter how good my polishing cloth is. I can't make this turd look good. Mr. Sarver has outdone himself. Bravo.

You think this is worse than last year? Last year I felt there was almost no reason to watch. Right now I can at least watch Ayton grow and the other youngs like Bridges and Okobo to see what potential they may have. The occasional TJ Warren blowup is also fun at times. The tiny flashes from Josh Jackson amid the larger mass of awful play. There are bright spots.

Last year I felt nothing; I watched as an obligation, but the team wasn't even trying or hoping to win. It was much worse than this IMO.

Last year we had 4 wins in our first 8 games. There will always be younguns to watch, but this year is worse because we aren't competitive.

I’m still pretty confident that this team can turn it around, at least to the point where we’re consistently competitive. There’s a lot of work to do, though.

If you are talking about the last 2 months of the season, sure. But watching Booker last year was pretty great. This season has probably been worse for me because he missed half our games so far, and his awful defense seems compounded when we are already down 20 by the 2nd quarter nearly every game.

Meaning we are rarely down by double digits in a game, and winning nearly half our games? Or do you mean more competitive than we have been so far this year?

I’d take either at this point, but I thought this was about a 32-win team before the season started and my opinion hasn’t changed much. So to answer your question, much more competitive but only winning about 35-40% of our games.
