Just listened to the beginning of the Bucks broadcast:

Jim Paschke:
“Tonight the Bucks face the worst team in the west, Phoenix. Steve, I always respect opponents. But the way the season has begun, and the way the Bucks dispatched Portland by 43 on Wednesday, The only storyline for me tonight is: what will the Bucks margin of victory be?”

Fuck you, Jim Paschke.

Man, what a weird game. I saw only part of it and it felt like the all-Giannis show. He shot 14-16! And like 2/3 of his shots were wide open dunks. He made me curse at the screen for our crappy defense. I didn't get to see the end (family Thanksgiving stuff), and I was just sure he'd dunk his way to a Bucks win. But we pulled it out.

Warren and Ayton are both so efficient on offense. I love having guys like that where they put it up and you just assume it's going in. They both have a nice touch on the ball and tend to take high-percentage shots. I love both of those guys.

I think I have reached the stage of acceptance with Josh Jackson. I don't like him and don't think he is very helpful out there for us most nights, but I think we need to play him big minutes and let him figure it out. It's too early to just bench him and cut his minutes. He needs 20-25 minutes per game at a minimum to grow in his second season. Tonight he got to the line and shot 6-7 FTs.

Is Holmes a shoe-in for the yearly Hustle Award?

Not sure, but I love the way he's playing. He's been playing his tail off the last 10 games.
Go Suns!

Sounds like a quote I saw earlier today...

The only question in this game is how badly we’re going to get beat.
Hahaha, at least we reverse jinxed it, lol.

The Suns now have the 3rd worst record in the league. Baby steps! Strangely, the Jazz are the 14th seed in the West right now.

Paschke has been broadcasting games since 1986. He's been around long enough to know that you can say Milwaukee SHOULD beat the Suns by 30, but you shouldn't say they WILL.

Hell, Cleveland won in Philly tonight that should have told him something right there.

Guys, not to get ahead of myself, but our Suns are only 6 games out of a playoff spot.

I thought Jackson played well tonight.

Canaan had an awful stretch in 4th. Not sure why we don't play Daniels instead sometimes. At least he can hit his open 3's.

That’s a good point about Daniels.

Besides that, I dream of an NBA Final between the Suns and the Bucks in the near future. Suns win and revenge for that coin flip back in 69.

I can’t believe the Suns won. The refs seemed like they didn’t want them to win. The Suns couldn’t hit a shot in the last half of the fourth quarter. Giannis doesn’t shoot ANY shot less than 6 inches from the basket and they just let him score at will. The same move over and over, drive left and then spin right.

They are improving. Their turnovers have improved. Their defense is starting to resenble defense. They keep scoring 60 in the first half. PG Booker is looking better but, did run out of gas. Lopez refused to stop shooting threes even though he couldn’t hit the ocean sitting in the row boat. Thank you Lopez!

Fixed it for ya

I think Canaan played himself out of the rotation tonight. Daniels or one of those rookies has to get this minutes now. Unless he’s hitting shots he’s doesn’t do jack out there.

End of the 3rd was awful. It’s weird when you think the team needs to give the coach a film session to highlight in game errors

TJ once again unstoppable on the break. I wonder if there is a way to see his shooting percentage on fast break attempts.
Can't find the exact FG%. The team currently is just #22 overall at 11.2 fastbreak points per game, but TJ Warren ranks #16 overall in the league with 3.5 of those points every contest. Also noteworthy is that he only gets blocked 0.6 times per game, which is absolutely elite when you combine with a very low 4.6 TO% on drives.

Warren is indeed a beast on offense now that he makes threes. Only complain would be that he basically never passes the ball.

Shinny nugget: Okobo is the guy that turns the ball over the least overall among those appearing in at least 10 games, playing 15 minutes or more and driving at least 5 times per game. Also one of the more willing kickers/passers at 41%, but not many of those passes become assists, just 9% (Kyle Lowry is king at 22%assist, and '19 free agents Rubio and Joseph are top3 as well).

On that TO% front, you have everybody else on PHX at 7% or more, with Jackson at 12.7% (bad for a rotation guard) and Ayton at 28.6% (!!!!): Only Steven Adams is over that terrible number among players over 30mpg, at a mindboggling 50%. If you look down on the list, the next relevant player is Drummond at 21.4%.

And while I am sucking on the NBA stats tit, check out this very very alarming (and well known by many at this point) fact: Ariza, Booker and Ayton's opponents score 15.3, 14.1 and 12.3 transition points per game. That means we have the bottom 1, 2 and 5 fastbreak defenders in the league (the bottom 5 also has Anthony Davis and Butler). Warren and Canaan are bottom 15 and 16. PHX has by far the worst transition defense in the league, but I am eager to see what happens from now on with Bridges at a more prominent role.
