I noticed a lot of discussion on this play, how the new "freedom of movement" emphasis is giving too much of an advantage to the offense. And I disagree. There's too much off-ball grabbing and shoving, and dangerous shot close-outs. Especially in the playoffs.

To me the problem is nothing gets called against the offense. Like moving screens (watch Harris on this very play), charges, travelling... This is where the offense gets a huge advantage. Or did anyone see the Giannis dunk over Griffin last night? How was Griffin called for a foul there?

Ibaka clearly fouled Jokic on that play and only Raptors homers would argue otherwise.

I like Doncic, but that is just dumb.

I think it's meant as a joke. Tate Frazier is a staffer at The Ringer; he makes a lot of sarcastic comments and posts online.

The ringer is also the biggest pro-doncic site around. They are responsible for most of the ridiculous doncic hyperbole

It is certainly hyperbole, but only 11 rookies ever have had 18/6/4. And 7 of the guys are in the HOF. But Luka would end up having the lowest win share of those HOF players in their first season.

Looking at Ayton, there have been 25 guys that finished their rookie season with 15/10/2. Any Ayton has the highest TS% and eFG% of any of them, by far. But to show his lack of aggression, he is dead last in FTA/G, and it isn't close. Same with FGA.

I think doncic has been better so far, I just don’t think the chasm between the two is as big as some people make it out to be.

Sh!t, it could be Booker, Warren, Holmes, Fox, Melton, Luka, Bridges, Mitchell Robinson, and Capela.

Heck, if they played it right, they could have traded down to #2 and picked up Harry Giles too.

Honestly, I think that tweet is ridiculous. If you have Booker and Fox, why are you going to draft Doncic? You would totally be looking to fill the center position at that point. And it's not like Fox set the world on fire his rookie year either.

t is just another stupid tweet from the guy. Not only for the reasons you said, but it is silly to go back and redo all drafts with 20/20 hindsight to show what you could have had if you nailed every pick, even going with guys well beyond where they were projected. Every team would have lists like this.

Cool but why are the Heat trading their starting PG for 2 more SFs?
